Wish they would stop this back line tippy tappy crap then back to Alnwick the blokes distribution of the ball is shocking a mistake is going to happen.

So Cardiff as expected did the early attacking, now Bristol City’s turn

Bagan clears

Armstrong looks to rip a ball in towards the far post, but loses his footing slightly and Bagan clears.

Comfortable for O'Leary

Shame as it was a really promising move from Cardiff.

Some patient build-up in midfield eventually punctuated by Mannsverk delivering a well weighted ball to switch it out to El Ghazi near the byline.

His ball his far too soft and O'Leary gathers at the near post.

Scott Twine booked.

He felt he was fouled by Rinomhota, but referee Tony Harrington disagrees.

Think it's a booking for his protest.

So far so unexciting, either way.

Colwill tries to make something happen

Twists and turns his way into the box before trying to slip in Rinomhota.

Pass is poor and it's cleared.

Not an awful lot to get excited about

All gone a little bit flat. A little, well, early-kick-off-y. Even the atmosphere has simmered down to a subdued din.

Although the away fans are still booing O'Dowda any time he gets the ball

Alnwick is having a mare, it will cost us if he decides he doesn't want to move from his line

Freekick

Sykes clatters into Rinomhota and it's a Cardiff freekick midway inside the Bristol half.

Special mention for Robinson. Pointless

That was terrible.

Apart from O'Dowda very early on, did we even have a shot on target?

Riza has the team selection all wrong today.

Very very poor, we're supposed to be at home.

At least Rubin and Mannsverk are trying to make things happen.

Dreadful first half tbh. Borefest.

None plus first half.

It feels like we are playing to avoid defeat. Same can be said about the Worzels.

We need someone to hold the ball up then the midfield can come in support with wingers or three the middle playing Robinson as lone striker doesn’t work yes he’s scored 11 goals but look at his goals id put selech on with Robinson take Colwill off then maybe after 60/70 depending how games going make changes when needed

What an awful half of football and I only caught from 13 onwards. Mannsverk looks far too good for us, he must be devastated he’s joined.
Unfortunately Ng has shown why he was dropped in the first place, and by giving his spot back we’ve put Rin in midfield which has had no impact at all. Colwill apart from fancy footwork has been anonymous and is a waste of a midfield player. Robinson and El Ghazi need to be hooked at half time absolutely pathetic.

Sorry this team just depresses the life out of me, and seeing such a negative team selection to begin with and seeing it play out the way you expect makes it worse. I’m normally positive regardless, but the last couple have weeks have finally broken me.

I think it was a decent first half and a definite improvement.

Our midfield is playing well especially Mannsverk.

Excitement and goal action wise it rates a zero though!

Agree - plus the fact that Mannsverk and Colwell have done ok.
1/ Robinson shouldnt have been in the team. He has carried on where he left off in the last match. Awful.
2/ Why play Robinson and Colwell in the same 11. It doesnt work - (do the same thing again and again and expect a different result?)

It’s as if he’s been told to play a false 9 during that half.
He seems to be everywhere except in the centre forward position.

But he’s our top scorer so I see why he’s started again.

Better from Cardiff here.

Alves skips his way past his man and squares for Robinson on the edge of the box.

Curled into the palms of O'Leary

Re: MATCH THREAD: " CARDIFF CITY v BRISTOL CITY " MATCH THRE

Sat Feb 15, 2025 1:38 pm

Alves causing problems

Cuts inside before seeing a shot blocked

Another chance goes begging.

Alves with another really good contribution.

His ball to the far post is nodded down by El Ghazi, and Robinson hits one on the volley.

Wide.
