I think Riza has done a decent job all things considered.
All this about sacking him over the last weeks is nonsense.

However, if Tan is able to bring in a better, more experienced manager in the summer then that would definitely be my preference.

So if we lose it's all down to Riza but if we win then he got lucky.

That says it all, I don't even have to say anything

I'm with you Wes.

Lasr night reminds me of the Derby game. We were lucky to hold on last night and against Derby. If we survive they will be 2 halfs we will look back on that kept us up.

As for the rest of the season we have a horrific run in compared to those below us. We are not out of it yet but we have given ourselves a better chance of surviving.

Lost twice in 14 games .

Re: Riza out?

No-one seems to care that, prior to last night ,we had lost the last 7 games on the bounce vs Hull. Yes we hung on but a great 3 points against a team with a strong away record!

We pray he Omer keeps us up, then goodbye and thank you, cost us nothing as contract expires

Re: Riza out?

Is Riza doing any worse than Selles or Robins two experienced managers with more backing who are struggling too .A lot of posters on here pushed for these appointments so are they doing any better

Ah but Frank, you must realise that if those two were here, with our top 8 squad, we would have BEAT Leeds 7-0, not the other way around.

It’s all Rizas fault.

(Apparently)

Again Riza chose to defend with 30 mins left.
It could easily have ended up a draw.
Tactics were poor but hey it was 3 points

Riza didn’t ‘choose’ to defend with 30 minutes left at all.

Hull look to be a possession based team, are decent away from home and needed the points badly so pushed us back.
It’s normal.
We defended well.

Absolutely; and that’s why a defender had Man of the Match! :ayatollah:

I'm with you on this. And think he will keep us up as I have said previous.
And I know its 4 in 21 wins. But another stat is 6 now unbeaten at home.
Paint whatever picture you want with the facts.
But I will say that I believe is transfer window in January has been good

Not sure why fans have to constantly bash Riza. Thankfully the support for him in the stands is loud.

Well done Riza. One step closer to safety. :ayatollah:

Very sad.

We Won last night and should all be happy posts like this ???

Agree hope tan shows some more ambition in the summer and get a top manager .riza won't get us promotion

100% agree with you Wez.

Love Riza’s passion and his smiles, plus his energy.

But not for us if we have ambition.

But it’s quite sad we are just chuffed we’re above the bottom 3 and not way higher with the players we have and should be at least 8th.

But all season right down there.

Tan will not give a long term contract, so forget any top managers Riza will be here

Re: Riza out?

Wed Feb 26, 2025 2:51 pm

I don’t believe Riza is the long term solution but if he keeps us up then he will have done is job.
Said before, we need changes on the board as well as the manager .
Get a D o F in and let him chose the manager ….the board are clueless .
Need a proper experienced football man brought in as a priority.

Stoke are booting off that their DOF (Jonathan Walters, club legend) is making a pigs ear of it.

No chance do we get rid now. However, I am still concerned with our defence.

Since boxings days loss to Oxford, we have scored in all but 1 game. 14 out of 15, with the 7-0 pumping being the game we failed to score (or turn up).

In the same 15 games, we only have 2 clean sheets. Jacks and last night.

Riza has, without a doubt, got us scoring more goals. Add a sprinkle more clean sheets and we'll be fine and absolutely; job done.

Re: Riza out?

Hull were undoubtedly poor but we won and that's all that counts.

I have to disagree with the Tan appreciators who feel this is a top 8 squad, its shit.

I think he may turn out to be a decent head coach, but we don't need a head coach we need an old school general manager who will run the club from top to bottom.

They are gone, it's now called the sporting director or DoF who doesn't get involved in the day-to-day first-team activities like a cloughie or Fergie, we need to get one of those who has some sort of history or pedigree in it and run the club.

A first-team manager on a 12-month contract is hardly building for the future and doesn't give you security as a player. So we go from crisis to crisis.

Surely there is an Italian or someone of their ilk out there who could come in and run Tans business because he can't regardless of the supposed top 8 squad. Then retaining Riza is fine because a run of bad results and he goes but we have a replacement lined up who doesn't need an entirely different sqaud.

We really are a Btec Man united

its not about getting riza out now he shouldnt have got the job in first place
he must of thought christmas came early not many managers start off there career this high up first job as manager
in a club thats been promoted twice have dangled with the play offs a few times recently trying to avoid relegation
im a believer you earn your stripes to get the top jobs (cardiff oviously isnt the top) is only experience has been with youth football really speaking he had a short tenure at leyton orient which didnt last as interim we've had some great managers over the years and some right pears the sooner this season is over for me the better this roller coaster ride is to up and down
been a wasted season just hope next season is much better without riza and purse whole management team needs revamping from top to bottom u21 u18 the whole lot just an opinion

I have to be careful with what I say here as I’ve already received a PM today falsely accusing me of being someone else and called a ‘Stalker’ because I disagree with certain opinions that are posted on here.

That being said, I agree with you that we are not a squad capable of top 8.

Re: Riza out?

Thu Feb 27, 2025 10:06 am

Hull were very poor, yet we just beat them.

Winning football matches is what we want, 4 in 21 is not good enough, we have a good squad.

I like Riza, I am behind him while hes in the job, but he was another terrible risky appointment, hiring a rookie for a relegation battle is madness, he is clearly learning on the job its scary, but he is a damn sight better than Bulut, which just highlights how bad a manager that guy was. I dont Riza him leading us next season, but I am open minded with him and will reassess at the end of the season where I hope he proves me wrong.

Has to , Wez despite Riza small fan club, The Supporters won’t take yet another season like this.

Great bloke

We need to be ambitious
