One point I think that is really important is that MM has shown he has a good eye for players.

No one is saying give him a silly amount of money.

Just a little more to see what gems MM could find with a bigger budget.

I'm just wondering where does this stop.
Say we pay big money with the intention of success at any level be it promotion, survival in the prem or pushing for europa league the owners can't keep on bankrolling the club forever and we will have to pay the consequences of having inflated wages and outgoings sometime.
So all i am saying is that IMO the club have got it spot on at this moment in time by securing longevity for the club by reducing our debts, and being able to be competitive in this league. What more can you ask for :D

We dont need to spend big money, just one or two more playersfor a million each, especially now that Bellamy looks to be going to Liverpool then why not spend more on other players, or was Bellamy not on the radar at all. :(

We don't need to spend big, but we did/need to spend something,

Malky cant realistically be expected to build a squad based on free transfers

EVERYBODY can see that the squad is seriously weak in terms of depth,

We are now 5 games in, still with a weakened squad, hoping that we can bring in some loan players, although most of the decent players available on loan have already been snapped up

I fear that the loan window will slam closed and we'll have signed maybe 1 player on loan, and that is worrying, September to January with a threadbare squad playing in 3 competitions

You say that but the squad is man for man larger than last season if looked at realistically.

Plus we have what two maybe three on trial. Unfortunately loans will only last until mid Dec ish.

But our squad was weak last year too in my opinion, that showed again in our end of season form

to be competitive this year is going to take a lot more than last year, we need at least 2 players in each position!

GK. Marsh and Heaton, sorted!

DR. Kev and Darcy, sorted

DL.Taylor, Naylor, Sorted

CB. (Gerrard, Turner)(Hudson, Keinon) sorted

MR. Cowie, ?, one short

ML. Conway, ? one short

CM. (Gunnar, Whitts)(Kiss, McFail)

ST. (Miller, Earnshaw)(Gestede, ?) one short

So as far as a basic first team squad, its 3 down on numbers, but, if you take into consideration that Naylor and Keinon aren't good enough, and Mason, Wilding, Farah etc are too inexperienced for a full campaign

Were worryingly short on wide men, especially considering the fixture list and how many miles they cover in our current formation/tactic
