Baz, I'll see your Liddle and raise you, not in that sort of way Jezz

When they kick at your front door
How you gonna come?
With your hands on your head
Or on the trigger of your gun

When the law break in
How you gonna go?
Shot down on the pavement
Or waiting on death row

You can crush us
You can bruise us
But you'll have to answer to
Oh, the guns of Brixton

The money feels good
And your life you like it well
But surely your time will come
As in heaven, as in hell

You see, he feels like Ivan
Born under the Brixton sun
His game is called survivin'
At the end of the harder they come

You know it means no mercy
They caught him with a gun
No need for the Black Maria
Goodbye to the Brixton sun

You can crush us
You can bruise us
Yes, even shoot us
But oh-the guns of Brixton

When they kick at your front door
How you gonna come?
With your hands on your head
Or on the trigger of your gun

You can crush us
You can bruise us
Yeah, even shoot us
But oh-the guns of Brixton

Shot down on the pavement
Waiting in death row
His game is called survivin'
As in heaven as in hell

You can crush us
You can bruise us
But you'll have to answer to
Oh, the guns of Brixton

raise you again

See that man dressed in black
Pass him by don't look back
Keep in a line and walk straight ahead
One false move could be dead

'Cos he's an underground
undercover agent for the CID
CID, CID
Got a loaded 44
Walking armoury store

Take a tip and hear what I say
Don't take no trip down Soho way
If you do you better keep in a line
Make one false move could be doing time

DOWN IN THE TUBESTATION AT MIDNIGHT
(Paul Weller)

The Jam - 1978

The distant echo of faraway voices boarding faraway trains
To take them home to the ones that they love and who love them forever
The glazed dirty steps, repeat my own and reflect my thoughts
Cold and uninviting, partially naked
Except for toffee wrappers and this morning's papers
Mr. Jones got run down
Headlines of death and sorrow, they tell of tomorrow
Madmen on the rampage

And I'm down in the tube station at midnight

I fumble for change, and pull out the Queen
Smiling, beguiling
I put in the money and pull out a plum
Behind me......
Whispers in the shadows, gruff blazing voices
Hating, waiting
"Hey boy" they shout, "have you got any money ?"
And I said "I've a little money and a take away curry, I'm on my way home to my wife.
She'll be lining up the cutlery, you know she's expecting me
Polishing the glasses and pulling out the cork"

I'm down in the tube station at midnight

I first felt a fist, and then a kick
I could now smell their breath.
They smelt of pubs and Wormwood Scrubs
And too many right wing meetings
My life swam around me
It took a look and drowned me in its own existence
The smell of brown leather
It blended in with the weather
It filled my eyes, ears, nose and mouth
It blocked all my senses
Couldn't see, hear, speak any longer

And I'm down in the tube station at midnight
I said I was down in the tube station at midnight

The last thing that I saw
As I lay there on the floor
Was "Jesus Saves" painted by an atheist nutter
And a British Rail poster read "Have an Awayday, a cheap holiday, Do it today!"
I glanced back on my life, and thought about my wife
Because they took the keys, and she'll think it's me

And I'm down in the tube station at midnight
The wine will be flat and the curry's gone cold

I'm down in the tube station at midnight
Don't want to go down in a tube station at midnight
Don't want to go down in a tube station at midnight

You could never fault the skinhead era, best football and socialising days of my life, you just seemed to live for football, drinking and having fun, mind you there was quite a bit of fighting aswell either at dances or the footy, great days.

Punk turned music on it's head, one minute Sounds was all prog rock then in 77 it all changed, there seemed to be bands popping up all over the place, some really good & others awful.Great era to be into music & personally i think was the best period ever for music.

If you want to play it rough Baz, then...........

London calling to the faraway towns
Now that war is declared-and battle come down
London calling to the underworld
Come out of the cupboard, all you boys and girls
London calling, now don't look at us
All that phoney Beatlemania has bitten the dust
London calling, see we ain't got no swing
'Cept for the ring of that truncheon thing

The ice age is coming, the sun is zooming in
Engines stop running and the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
London is drowning-and I live by the river

London calling to the imitation zone
Forget it, brother, an' go it alone
London calling upon the zombies of death
Quit holding out-and draw another breath
London calling-and I don't wanna shout
But when we were talking-I saw you nodding out
London calling, see we ain't got no highs
Except for that one with the yellowy eyes

Now get this
London calling, yeah, I was there, too
An' you know what they said? Well, some of it was true!
London calling at the top of the dial
After all this, won't you give me a smile?

I never felt so much a' like

You got me going now yer b*stard, bought number, somewhere number 28 to 35 guitar last weekend in Shumen, a bog standard Squire strat but Pink and a little Fender amp, I'll be up half the f*cking night now trying to remeber how to play Down in the Tube Station!!!!!
