That scenario was just a move to get a feel. Even if all us fans stuck by our guns the Malaysians would have still got us playing in red.
I will agree with you that some of us fans bottled it which is really disappointing.
This dilemma you find yourselves in has bugger all to do with the Malaysians changing their minds. It's right there in black and white for all to see. Tan had backed down. There was no longer going to be a re-brand. It was the sycophants who changed his mind when he put his cheque book away. They literally begged Tan to push ahead with the rebrand, and Tan duly obliged. Stripping you of over a hundred years of history, and the rest of you just stood by and let it happen.

I'm not happy that we changed kit colour. The badge doesn't bother me as it is the 4th that I remember as a lifelong fan and it has the bluebird on. I did nothing about it other than not buy my kids the home shirts.
You lot changed your name in the 60s or 70s and have changed badge 3 times in my memory. You have also gone into debt and paid creditors a pittance twice in your existence whilst Ccfc have not.

So basically you did nothing?
Are you seriously going to lecture us on debt? The amount of money we owed at the time was miniscule compared to the debt that you lot are CURRENTLY in. And before you start bleating, this debt of yours has yet to be repaid. You still owe it. The only chance you've got of ever repaying it is to bow down to this superstitious Malaysian megalomaniac of yours. Which brings us back to my original question. Do you feel comfortable whoring yourself out, even if it does mean paying off that old crook Sam?
Ps, when you refer to us changing names, are you referring to us changing from Swansea town to Swansea city? You do know why this was done don't you?

I hate to correct you (again) but your stadium funding is most likely to have come from the retail parks near the ground. The ccs was funded by the retail park and you will find that the vast majority of new stadia are funded by developments.

Indeed, the vast majority of the funding for the Liberty Stadium came from the sale of land on the retail park, along with a Football Trust grant acquired by the club in the region of £2m.
How much did Cardiff City pay for the land for the stadium and retail park given that Swansea Council raised around £25m from the sale of land in Morfa retail park?

CCFC were given the land by Cardiff council. The same land that they sold to the council for 50k in the late 80s. I believe Tony Clemo sold the land (old car park) as we needed the cash, the city needed an athletics track and the land at the time was worthless as covenants meant it could only be used for sport related business.

So you were given the land for nothing when instead, the council could have benefited to the tune of millions if the council had sold the land itself to retail developers?

No we were given back the land that we got very little for to build a stadium and retail park that benefits the capital city of Wales. The council were built a nice new athletics stadium and major road improvements as part of the scheme.

your council tax is prob more used to pay for all the bums in swansea to get their council tax benefit, than put towards funding the liberty.
the vast majority if not all would have come from government grants etc.
do you look at the liberty and think to yourself "i helped build that!!"

Swansea City moved to the £27m Liberty Stadium in 2005 after the council paid most of the money to build it.
