It not about how much my house is worth, or if i have a few more quid in my pocket, GDP, diversity, or what Farage or Corbyn might say.

Eurostat estimate that the British population will rise to 85 million by 2080 - a rate more than double the rest of Europe. This worries me greatly and is not sustainable.

BlueGog please answer this, why are you extolling the virtues of the EU but then also advocating we leave it by leaving the UK? You know we would forfeit out membership of the EU in the event of independence and that it would be extremely difficult for us to re enter.

Leaving the UK is a long term aim, Wales isn't ready to take that step yet, our economy is not strong enough, our infrastructure needs developing and obviously our electorate don't want it at the moment. I want to say in the EU because Wales benefits more from Europe than we do from England. Do you really believe Westminster will invest that kind of money in Wales? They don't even match fund the EU money as they're meant to!

You might think this is a contradiction, but I make my decision by what's right for Wales, nothing else. I'm Welsh, England doesn't interest me in the least. As I've stated in other posts leaving the EU might benefit parts of England but that simply isn't true of Wales.

Well said

Where did you check the figures?

The Daily Telegraph Online (never shy of shouting about migration and foreigners) quoted the combined Romanian and Bulgarian migrant worker figure as 219,000 last November. There must have been one hell of a spike since then if Farage is 'SPOT ON'.

Yes I know what a bigot is, but just for your benefit I will explain it. It is someone who’s ego and beliefs will not let them accept that someone else might have a different opinions, and if they do have a different opinion they are wrong.
They also think that threats (verbal and physical), abuse, name calling, and basically trying to discredit that person is acceptable.
Examples are Ken Livingston, Jeremy Corbyn, Diane Abbott, Alex Salmon.

agree with you on that. If you read previous posts you see that I agree immigration needs to be controlled. But leaving the eu means we lose control as we have no vote. But we still have to agree to the rules like Norway and Switzerland. I wish you leave guys had more reasons to leave eu but you don't and the only reason you all come up with you have no answers to solve it.

Can you tell hand on heart if we leave the eu in 10 years time what will immigration be at??

How does anyone know the answer to that. Everything is pure speculation as to what weill happen if we leave. The remain campaigners don't know what will happen, nobody has ever left. We know what will happen if we stay though, our population will grow at a rate that will put unbearable strain on all our services.

OK - thanks for the link. I don't know how reliable that website is but it's 'estimate' of 500,000 Romanians in the UK seems to apply to workers, students and economically self-sufficient residents (i.e. live on own private income without need for wages or benefits). I don't know how many rich Romanians or Romanian students are in the UK - but i doubt it is many. If that is true there is little difference between 'the number of Romanians WORKING here and LIVING here' to quote you. Oh dear...oh dear...

I don't know whether the Telegraph is right or Farage is right - and in either case there may be the same arguments about the type and scale of European migration - but I still doubt that the pro-Brexit, pro-Tory right Telegraph has undercooked its figures when running a migration 'shock-horror' story. That's as unlikely as Farage being 'SPOT ON' about anything.

The money they lose off us would be more than compensated by the money other countries outside of the EU give to us at the moment because we are a gateway to europe. If we come out how does a company like Nissan sell their cars to europe from this country, short answer is they can't and will perhaps shift their production to a country inside the EU.OOPs millions lost by us staight to europe and when you think of the total number of countries building and making their products in this country that would have to shift their production to another european countries you begin to see that investment in our economy is much greater that the money we pay into the EU.

So basically you are saying if we leave Europe all foreign companies in UK will leave as cannot sell their products to Europe?

Nissan and Honda are just 2 that would up sticks and leave as soon as they can. Also add the American company CAT and jcb. And then Many more to follow. And then an increase in price for us Brits on the outside alongside a weaker pound. Double price hike big job losses ooh wonder what follows next. Shall I continue??

So staying in Europe is only way UK can survive in the economic world ? Well you had better hope we vote in or the UK is doomed to lose millions of jobs and be turned into 3rd world country?

I have been lucky enough to visit the Nissan plant in Sunderland on a number of occasions and it is without doubt a World Class manufacturing operation with one of the highest productivity rates of any plant in the World. It would be an absolutely HUGE risk to Nissan, never mind the cost, to close that site and move it elsewhere in Europe.

Whilst there is no doubt that one of the big attractions originally for Nissan to build that plant was the guaranteed access to the EU to sell their cars, that is no longer as powerful a case as it once was because over 5 years ago Nissan identified themselves that the European opportunities for them had pretty much bottomed out and they actively sought other international markets for cars made at Sunderland. I know this because I witnessed a Nissan presentation about how they saw the future of Sunderland and since then over 25% of the cars manufactured there are exported to countries like Russia, China, Turkey, India, USA and believe it or not Japan and in total over 100 countries. It is an amazing success story for Nissan, it's workforce at Sunderland, it's suppliers and of course it's worldwide customers.

I know they are extremely proud of what has been achieved at Sunderland and I simply cannot believe they would up sticks after 30 years and start again elsewhere.

In my opinion Nissan Sunderland is a classic example of where we as a nation should be proud of what we can achieve and not simply believe it is only there because of our membership of the EU.

I have no doubt we vote in even with about 40% of voters not turning out (all of whom are happy in) because the country general not stupid enough to vote for something that the campaigners don't even know what they can do if we leave. I'm shocked as possibly 25% of the nation actually considering voting leave.
