Hi
West Ham fan here. Glad to see you boys are doing the business this time round. Keep it up please.
You are the only proper club in Wales unlike that other insignificant village team down the road from you.

helped pay for it  what an absolute stain you are.

your council tax is prob more used to pay for all the bums in swansea to get their council tax benefit, than put towards funding the liberty.

the vast majority if not all would have come from government grants etc.

do you look at the liberty and think to yourself "i helped build that!!"

you crack me up mush!

Swansea City moved to the £27m Liberty Stadium in 2005 after the council paid most of the money to build it.

so tell me, how much did you help out by then? i mean the stadium cost what £27million. im sure the council were sat there thinking "i hope magic daps pays his council tax on time, we really need it to help build a £27million stadium"

youve more than likely being paying for them to re-house a pedo than pay towards a stadium.

You made a spurious claim that the liberty was built for us by the government. Got proved wrong, and then proceed to turn a discussion about the funding of a football stadium into paedophilia.

What is wrong with you?

Trounced!!!!!Own goal wasnt it and 2 defensive howlers. Obviously Swansea Town (est 1985 and again in 2003) had 250% of possession and tore west ham 4 new arseholes.

first of all, i didnt say the government built it.

secondly, whats wrong with me? i live in the real world. i hate paying council tax. really hate it. i dont pay my council tax and then fool myself into thinking its going to a good cause. clearly unlike some people eh! i dont pay mine and then think "oh, ive just helped pay for a park for my daughter to play in"

you have absolutely no idea what your money, the money YOU pay goes towards. you can be naive and think youve just done a good thing when in reality if you could trace the money you pay to the council, the chances are none of it went towards the stadium.

How Council Tax is spentFurther information: Local government in England, Local government in Wales, and Local government in Scotland
Although it is the only tax which is set by local government, the Council Tax contributes only a small proportion (25%, on average) of local government revenue. The majority comes from central government grants and from business rates which are collected centrally and redistributed to local authorities.

Local government provide services such as police, fire, recycling, refuse collection and removal, schools, leisure centres, park and ride schemes, parks and open spaces, street cleaning, subsidising of public transport, tourism, museums, social housing grants, housing and council tax benefits, environmental health and food safety in pubs, restaurants and shops, planning services, support for voluntary groups, meals on wheels, facilities for young people, adapting homes for disabled people, play centres for children, cctv installation, sports facilities, issuing taxi licences, flood defences, and many others.

A significant proportion of local government services are stipulated by central government in the form of statutory provision. Local councils are obliged by law to provide these services. The remainder of services are discretionary and are determined by the local council.

all those things the monies spent on. yet, your council tax was paid by a direct debit straight to the "liberty stadium building fund".

so, how much of the council tax you paid, went towards the liberty stadium Mr Magic "I helped build the liberty" Daps?

Re: Looks like you boys are going up.

These Jacks are claiming that their council tax help build the Liberty. I doubt that very much but for arguments sake lets say some of the money came from the council payer. Now lets look at one of those payers who DONT go to the football, perhaps hates the game and if they are local find the day of the game an inconvience. For this inconvience what does such a tax payer get from the club.

The answer is absolutely nothing because with all its millions now dont pay a penny of rent back to the community. The Jacks should start paying their rent before they start judging any other club.

What a load of crap, of course some people in swansea dont like football, but without doubt the liberty stadium has been great for the whole of swansea. there some things i dont like the council spending money, on does that mean the council should not spend the money, because i dont like it, of course not. You have to look at the bigger picture, and if the tax payers from swansea did not pay for the liberty who did?

No we were given back the land that we got very little for to build a stadium and retail park that benefits the capital city of Wales. The council were built a nice new athletics stadium and major road improvements as part of the scheme.

The fact you sold the land in the 80's has absolutely no relevance.

It was council owned land that they could have developed themselves and made millions on. Correct?

They could have developed it themselves but the work done by PMG/CCFC put far more into the local economy than a council effort would have done. It also put more into Ridsdale's back pocket allegedly but we wont go into that.....
