The money they lose off us would be more than compensated by the money other countries outside of the EU give to us at the moment because we are a gateway to europe. If we come out how does a company like Nissan sell their cars to europe from this country, short answer is they can't and will perhaps shift their production to a country inside the EU.OOPs millions lost by us staight to europe and when you think of the total number of countries building and making their products in this country that would have to shift their production to another european countries you begin to see that investment in our economy is much greater that the money we pay into the EU.

So basically you are saying if we leave Europe all foreign companies in UK will leave as cannot sell their products to Europe?

I have been lucky enough to visit the Nissan plant in Sunderland on a number of occasions and it is without doubt a World Class manufacturing operation with one of the highest productivity rates of any plant in the World. It would be an absolutely HUGE risk to Nissan, never mind the cost, to close that site and move it elsewhere in Europe.

Whilst there is no doubt that one of the big attractions originally for Nissan to build that plant was the guaranteed access to the EU to sell their cars, that is no longer as powerful a case as it once was because over 5 years ago Nissan identified themselves that the European opportunities for them had pretty much bottomed out and they actively sought other international markets for cars made at Sunderland. I know this because I witnessed a Nissan presentation about how they saw the future of Sunderland and since then over 25% of the cars manufactured there are exported to countries like Russia, China, Turkey, India, USA and believe it or not Japan and in total over 100 countries. It is an amazing success story for Nissan, it's workforce at Sunderland, it's suppliers and of course it's worldwide customers.

I know they are extremely proud of what has been achieved at Sunderland and I simply cannot believe they would up sticks after 30 years and start again elsewhere.

In my opinion Nissan Sunderland is a classic example of where we as a nation should be proud of what we can achieve and not simply believe it is only there because of our membership of the EU.

Well if you believe last two posts they are saying if we leave every major foreign firm will up sticks and leave UK? I don't believe that for one minute , as more than Europe was reason to be in UK in 1st place.!

So staying in Europe is only way UK can survive in the economic world ? Well you had better hope we vote in or the UK is doomed to lose millions of jobs and be turned into 3rd world country?

I have no doubt we vote in even with about 40% of voters not turning out (all of whom are happy in) because the country general not stupid enough to vote for something that the campaigners don't even know what they can do if we leave. I'm shocked as possibly 25% of the nation actually considering voting leave.

You didn't answer my point? About losing millions of jobs etc.

I'M FOR BREXIT - And yet another thing the remain campaigners fail to tell you:-

How come that there are a total of over 5,000 EU inmates (criminals, murderers, thieves, pedophiles, fraudsters, violent rapists, etc, etc) in British jails at a cost to the BRITISH taxpayer over 30,000 a year per prisoner? The numbers have grown considerably in the last decade, from 1,763 in 2002 to over 5,000 in 2016. Why can't we send them back to their own countries to serve sentence if the European arrest warrant is the Gold standard and as the EU we are "All in this together"?

For me, the most frightening thing about a "Remain" vote is that the faceless bureaucrats in Brussels and Strasbourg (of which there are over 750 of them, of which 70% of them earn more money than the British Prime Minister) will be able to say "well you voted to stay", "we can do what we want now" - Giving them the Green light for closer and closer integration to a federal Europe (united states of Europe).

If you love GREAT BRITAIN this will be our last chance to regain our absolute sovereignty and democracy, as if we vote to remain this time, it WILL be too late and irreversible to opt out again.

VOTE LEAVE

Well you may not be up to date they already moving production lines of big sellers to they eu plant. And replacing the Sunderland line with the little heard and low selling Infiniti brand. Already job cuts on the way. The Sunderland plant is easy to replicate elsewhere as it's not a British thing that makes it good. But a well run japanese company that uses kaizen as they tool. They now use Sunderland also as they eletric power plant we all know that's going no where. If you have contacts there get in touch with them and tell me that im wrong??

And where is the main market for the "Infinity" brand Hmm The USA of course and it is an absolutely tremendous compliment to the workforce in Sunderland that Nissan trust them to manufacture their premier brand.

There are two statements you have made which show, without doubt, your very limited understanding of the automotive sector. Firstly that to replicate the Sunderland plant is easy and the other is JCB will up sticks from their Staffordshire base because we leave the EU.

Funniest thing I've read in ages.

I know and for me it's all about "Project Fear" and the brainwashing that it aims at. Only a fool would think that if we were to leave the EU there wouldn't be a negative effect, but we are currently the worlds 5th largest economy and even if the effect of Brexit is George Osbourne worst prediction on GDP we would still very likely be the worlds 5th largest economy.

I think the negative effects of leaving the EU are a price worth paying to free us from that nutcase organisation and I truely believe that not only will we recover but we will be stronger with the EU shackles removed.

This may shock you even more. There may be more stupid people around than you realise.
Bookies have been deluged by a flood of Brexit bets this week after a shock telephone poll put the Leave campaign ahead for the first time.

Online surveys routinely give Leave a modest lead, while apparently more accurate telephone polls tend to put Remain at a comfortable advantage. However, this was turned on its head in the latest ICM surveys for The Guardian, in which both methods gave the pro-Brexit campaign a four-point lead of 52 to 48 per cent.

In response, "millions of pounds" have been gambled on the UK voting to leave the EU on 23 June, reports the Daily Express.

I did answer. You asked if we leave would we lose jobs. We won't leave that strikes out all the other question.
Pretty simple really. Lol.

So because you say we will stay in you don't need to answer the point? Make it simple if we leave do you think we will lose millions of jobs and all foreign companies will abandon UK?

This guy thinks JCB is a foreign company    Brainwashed by "Project Fear" I think Pembroke.

:bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

And yet none of you know what's going to happen when we leave. So what will happen to the pound?? What will happen with jobs.?? What will happen with immigration?? Over a year 5 years and 10 years?

You can't answer I've already asked. It nuts you want to vote in the biggest change when you don't know what's going to happen. Could you imagine a general election when a party would say vote for us we don't know what we going to do when we get there but we see when it happens.

Crazy exiters. That have been scared to death uk gonna be a 3rd world country if we stay in the eu.

;-)

stay in argument is all about might or possibly or maybe in truth they don't know either ? Just scare tactics as you put it! Or do you know for certain thousands of jobs will go or we will have financial meltdown?

When we stay in things won't change we just carry on growing as already mentioned by castel a leave voter how well forge in companies are currently doing in the uk. It's laughable he says we doing so well but wants to leave and can't answer what will improve. ??

Lack of substance. If I was a leaver I answer it with what I think would happen. So why can't you lot??

Bullshit jcb and cat said they are staying also Nissan came out and said they would be staying ,the euro is very weak and will get weaker if we leave due to Germany not being able to pay for everyone else in the euro zone you make some crap up

I think one thing that both sides agree on. Is that if we leave our future uncertain. And when both sides agree on one thing that is so negative and dangerous. Then voting to stay is a no brainer.

I was all for leave until every road led to uncertainly. I want to vote for someone with confidence control and a plan to put forward. Not a suck and see attitude. They don't even know if I Immigration will change if we leave. And this is they biggest selling point. You couldn't write it. Bunch of clueless cowboys.

You do realise that we have only been part of this organisation for a realtively short time, and a lot of us were doing perfectly well when we were'nt in the EU or Common Market as it was then.

Now that just isn't remotely true.

Rampant inflation,Strikes everywhere, wages spiraling, manufacturing was dead on its feet. Its was the biggest embaressment of all time when we had to go and beg for a loan off the IMF because we were skint. There was nothing great about Britain in those days.

Yes I agree, but nobody knows what the future holds either way. I don't think many saw the Euro running into problems and countries going bankrupt. What I do know is that before we joined, getting on the housing ladder was not difficult, and you could have a choice of jobs. I know that to be true, it happened to me and I was'nt a wealthy or over educated person. There is no way I would own my own house if I was a youngster now, and I would probably struggle to get a decent job. I don't know what will happen if we leave, but I can remember what it was like before we joined.

My experience of referendums is that people normally vote in favour of the "Status Quo", as was the case (Just About) with the Scottish Independence referendum. Again and because of "Project Fear" there will likely be a small majority in favour of staying, however the leave campaign have the "Ace" in the pack with the immigration issue and as we saw last night Dodgy Dave has absolutely no answer to it.

In my opinion if the "Free Movement Of Labour" was not being imposed on us by the EU there would be an overwhelming majority in favour, but the Fruitloops in Brussels insist it has to remain so for me we simply have to vote to leave. Why? because the uncontrolled mass migration of people into the UK is putting massive pressure onto housing, education, health services and transport.

In a few years time Croatian citizens will have free movement and waiting in the wings are Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia, Serbia and god forbid Turkey. It's anyone's guess how many of their citizens would look to come to the UK but the question is 'How many can this country cope with before our main services collapse.

If we do vote to leave the effects will be felt inside the EU as much as they are in the UK, and the Fruitloops in Brussels know this, but they remain committed to their "United States Of Europe" vision of utopia with their heads firmly stuck in the sand.

No one knows exactly what the effects will be, although project fear try to brainwash into god knows what, but one thing is certain there will be a recovery and with control of our borders and the appropriate Powers returned to Westminster we will be fine. Remember Churchill once said "Politicians claim to have the ability to tell you what will happen tomorrow, next week, next month and next year, and they also have the ability to explain to you when none of it happens". How true is that when it is applied to "Project Fear" ?

Whatever the cost of Brexit in my opinion for our future it will be a price well worth paying.

I agree with everything CastleBlue said above. In my previous post I said how I was able to get on the housing ladder at a young age as well as have a choice of jobs. I'm not blaming everything on the EU, but it certainly has'nt helped the situation with the number of people pouring into this country. Not enough houses around now, so prices almost make it impossible for today's younger generation to become homeowners. Obviously not enough jobs around any more, and all that goes with it, traffic congestion, long waits at hospitals, difficult to get your child into the school you want. Seems a neverending list, and I don't recall any of this happening when we were just little old UK, and on our own.

Well I've known nothing but being in the eu. I have a job live in a first world country recently bought my first house. A brand new car. Due to cheap holidays In Europe with easy travel and no visas I can also afford them. All paid for by a company basses in uk sells 90% of it's product in the eu. Extension but to my new house by polish builders to an excellent standard. Checked by a surveyor friend of mine. At 35% less cost to the cheapest british quote. When asked how they do it so much cheaper. He said british people are just greedy. We got ourselves into this no one else.
