Serious stuff.

To put this into context, the support provided to British banks by the government during the banking crisis was in excess of £900 billion .

Haha what's that got to do with companies shifting £59 billion pounds in Europe??

Come on mark this is bad news a silly silly comparison. I could say I. Comparison to that 900 billion you could have bough bhs for a £. Absolutly no relevance at all.

This was the first statistically accurate fact so far in whole debate.

I see Boris and Gove have asked for a live tv debate with Cameron. Be interesting to see if he accepts as these appear to be the main players in this whole debate. I think it would help a lot of neutrals make up their mind as well.

I watched Dodgy Dave giving his "Please listen to me" sermon this morning which for me is the first sign that he thinks that "Leave" may well win the day in this referendum. His claim that he felt "Moved" to act after watching the news last night shouldn't be seen as an epiphany but more a serious bowel movement as he can see his political career collapsing before his eyes.

I don't think he will want to go head to head with Michael Gove because within 5 minutes you will see who has the superior intellect between the two, Boris on the other hand has personality but struggles to get a consistent message across.

I think Farage will say something outrageous tonight and the debate will get dragged down by him, he just won't be able to stop himself.

I would just like someone in this debate to answer the question if the UK is at risk of losing millions of jobs what would the effect on the EU, Germany in particular, be if the UK votes to leave. There is one absolute fact in ALL of this and that is the UK has for nearly 40 years suffered with a balances of payments deficit fuelled by a strong demand by almost anything than can be imported (German cars and White Goods etc). So if access to the huge demand from the UK is closed off "How many jobs will be lost in Germany" and will the German government sit back and do nothing :?

As the saying goes Hmmmmmmm

It would be a very messy situation indeed.

I wonder how many of those campaigning for Brexit were against Scotland leaving the UK. A large proportion I would imagine.

I wasn't and to this day I think Scotland made a huge mistake in not voting to leave the UK. I really hope that Scotland does push for a second referendum if we vote to leave the EU and this time take the right decision.

There is no doubt if we leave there will be in losses.
There will be at least two years of turmoil.

A bit like the recessions we have every 7 to 10 years.

There are many links with Europe. We are a huge importer as well as exporter.
Southern Europe will rely on Us holiday makers. Northern Europe on manufacturing.

The balance won't favour anyone. British or European.

Wales will hurt more than most. But we need to fight the London domination.

I'm in favour of Wales becoming a low tax country. Brining in trade and jobs.
Get us all working Not shirking

Give us aspiration and inspiration.

f**k the European begging bowl. Let's get our balls out

Most of Wales classed as the poorest areas of Europe ffs!
It shows England has shat on us and being in Europe has shown it.
Let's re-direct the billions of pounds of waste and create a future for our kids and grandkids

Re: ' POLL ' How would you vote on eu today?

Tue Jun 07, 2016 11:27 pm

There are a number of concerns.

I would rather the British electorate decide who ultimately governs Britain, rather than unelected Europeans deciding what happens to OUR country.

It is undemocratic for EU leaders to be unelected. The vast majority of British people would have no idea who these leaders are, which political leaning they have or whose pocket they are in. They appear to make sweeping decisions on open borders and immigration without taking ANY responsibility.

The way the EU bent over backwards to bail out Greece to keep them in the EU, yet the EU were reluctant to make even the most minor of concessions to Britain during Cameron's negotiations. That smacks of hypocrisy.

If you look at different attitudes, cultures, beliefs and values of people within Cardiff. There will be differences.
Compare them with people from different cities, towns and villages around Wales, England and the rest of Britain. You will see some great differences.
Then compare them with people from different countries - how do YOUR attitudes, culture, beliefs and values differ to someone and large groups of people in France, Estonia, Lithuania, Hungary, Latvia or Germany.

OUR values, cultures, beliefs and attitudes will differ massively.

How can we be so close to accepting Turkey and considering Albania when those people have vastly different cultures, etc.

They will be able to travel freely throughout the EU and that will include Britain IF we vote to remain.

I'll await the racist comments, but Turkey has a population of nearly 80 million people, over half of 25-34 year olds have not been educated to high school. The numbers are far higher with the older demographics.

Between 96.4 and 99.8% of the population are Muslim, that is between 77 and 80 million Muslims of who, over half a poorly or very poorly educated.

We have seen Turkey's appalling Human Right's records, seen how their football 'fans' behave, including the burning down of a stadium because the team got relegated and how they treat others who think differently to them.

We have seen how many millions of Muslims reacted to the Copenhagen comic picture of Mohamed.

Within the last few years within Turkey and including the current President Erdogan, there have been changes that have made it become more Islamised. The burkha had been banned previously from the times of Ataturk in the 1920's. It has been re-introduced and accepted since 2012. President Erdogan is pushing very hard to overturn nearly 100 years of Ataturk control of Islam and trying to get Islam to be at the heart of Turkey's constitution.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/04 ... stitution/

Turkey, as most will know is the gateway between Europe and the middle East, with war torn Syria on its border.

Having Turkey as a member of EU means that the ONLY true border between the EU and the middle East is between Turkey and Syria and we have seen how transparent that border is.

IF Erdogan and his AKP party become even more powerful, then who is to say that in 3, 5, 10 or 20 years time they will actively encourage the likes of ISIS to proliferate within its borders and to infiltrate the whole of the EU.

Erdogan and his party are already megalomaniacs.

What are their plans for a future Europe ?
