I don't remember it being that bad, yes we had a kicking, & the FAW were to blame for that, selling "home" tickets to the Scott's, but i was there, on the Kop, at the end of the game, not all the Scotts were causing trouble.

well that`s what we witnessed, and of course they won. It would probably have been a lot different if Wales had triumphed that night.
I was a civil servant and a lot of women in my office had calls from random jocks asking them to get tickets on their behalf after giving them sob stories, and that is how a lot of jocks get into away games. Sneaky.

My away days started around 1978 and I took in all the places you refer to. I'm not denying that trouble occurred on occasions but you make out that it was a constant event - it wasn't.

Perhaps the fact that we just drove up to games, had a pint, watched the match and went home means we missed all this constant aggro?

Claude, it was virtually week in week out in the late 70's and 80's. Even Halifax caused trouble in them days. We have all moved on I agree I def have, but I wont say sorry to know one about them days, I have never taken a drug, burgled, robbed anyone, stabbed anyone, attacked innocent people etc etc.
That was the way of life in them days and you have to be honest, ask 90% off fans from them days the Truth.

Annis, you have shocked me in saying 90% were at it. More like 95% at least :D

Was the score 0-0 ? can remember going in a mini-bus, dont remember any OB stood upper terrence behind the goal with constant fights going on , what i do remember about outside after was a well known lad from Fitzalen school . The lad was RUDI PIKA (RIP) he was a top amature boxer and fought BRUNO in the ABA finals on sportsnight.
well in the car park after the game RUDI with his flat welsh cap on (remember those) and can see him now, he walked straight through the english lot they didnt want to know no one fancied taking him on.

The one game that always sticks out in my mind more than any other watching WALES was - Anfield Wales v Scotland with 50,000 mad drunken Jocks and about 8,000 welsh - The KOP was MENTAL so many things happened that day - 2 or 3 football special from central MAD ALL DAY
