Oh well. A huge shame. However if it means we have a few million to spend on a striker I'd take that swap any day of the week!! Amos will be a perfectly able replacement at this level. Looking at positives, an outfield captain now! Give the job to Gunnars and let him lead by example!!

My friend you are absolutely entitled to your opinion but I could not disagree more.

We are looking to replace the best keeper in the Championship with someone from Bolton's reserves.

Only at Cardiff!

You don't need the best keeper in the Championship to get promoted - Middlesborough did it last year with Konstatopolis in goal! Marshall is an expensive luxury who is past his best ( although still pretty good). I just wish his wages were going to be used to strengthen the team.

I hear what you say but when you're a team in our position which is weaker than last season and you're then removing somebody who probably earns between 8 and 10 points a season with his saves then you're weakening the team even further.

I'm sorry but for me if you put Amos, Wilson or even Simon Moore (before he left) in the team instead of Marshall you are making it considerably weaker.

Selling Marshall would be even crazier than Fabio. Amos is cover not a replacement. You simply cannot replace the best keeper in the Championship.....only Hennessey would do!

Cardiff City goalkeeper David Marshall is the subject of an approach from Premier League side Hull City, BBC Wales Sport has learned.

BBC

Friday 26th August 2016

Saturday's Championship clash with Reading could be the Scottish international's farewell ahead of a potential £5m move.

Marshall, 31, has made more than 280 appearances for the club since arriving from Norwich City for free in 2009.

Cardiff have signed Bolton goalkeeper Ben Amos on a season-long loan.

However, they have also sold back-up stopper Simon Moore to Sheffield United.

Marshall, considered one of the top goalkeepers outside the Premier League, was the subject of interest from West Bromwich Albion last summer.

The emergence of Hull's interest could spark offers from other clubs with Everton also linked.

Before the latest approach emerged, head coach Paul Trollope admitted Cardiff had players who would interest other clubs.

He said: ''I think any manager or any coach wants to keep their best players. But also I think any coach will tell you all players have their value whether they are top of the league or in League Two.

''Players do have their value. Of course you want to keep your best players, but we are also aware of their value.''

The signing of Amos and defender Joe Bennett, who has joined from Aston Villa, means Cardiff have made seven signings this summer.

Lex Immers, Kenneth Zohore, Emyr Huws, Jazz Richards and Frederic Gounongbe have also moved to the Welsh capital.

Meanwhile, midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi has been terminated by the club via a contract killing.

Are you serious? How much 'cost cutting' do we have to go through before our team is mediocre? When are we gonna be selling our car park to Cardiff casino? I can't believe some fans are bending over and taking this what a load of shambles!

Yes you're right. The club kept that very quiet of course allowing everyone to believe that he was being signed as a back up to Marshall.

Contract killing?

Death by Chocolate more like for Dikgacoi.

Trollope's right - every player does have a value but we have previous form when it comes to selling our players for a lot less than they are actually worth.

The Premier League is awash with money nowadays and yet we manage to get £2m for Fabio and £2.5m for Marshall?

We're not a "selling" club - we're a "giving away for next to f**k all" club.

Cardiff City have received a bid from Hull City for goalkeeper David Marshall, according to media Wales.

The rumours come on the day the Bluebirds secured the loan signing of former Manchester United stopper Ben Amos, who was believed to be replacing Simon Moore after he joined Sheffield United last week.

The fee could rise as high as £5 million, with Saturday's clash with Reading at the Cardiff City Stadium being the 31-year-old's final game.

i thought the days of us selling our best players for knockdown fees was gone after we sold out for the rebrand, but those days are now back.

i do not blame marshall at all and hope he does well at hull - a consummate professional who has kept together this team in the past couple of years.

Spot on.

Remember us selling Blake to Sheff United with add-ons that were never added-on!

And for some reason I have Simon Haworth's sale to Coventry in mind too.

But suffice to say these additional payments rarely seem to come our way - don't know why we don't just hold out for a higher fee.

Except for the fact that we seem to want to sell anyone we can for whatever anyone wants to offer that is.

Spot on. The crowds are dropping because fans are not being entertained. Play negative football without a striker whilst at the same time selling all of your best players. Speculate to accumulate springs to mind however the club do not want to spend any money. Just 1/2 exciting signings might generate a response with thousands more coming through the gate but the club seems intent on going the other way.
