Ledley was at the club well before Sam Hammam came along and Chris Gunter could well have been as well - given that Ledley was with Cardiff at the age of eight or nine, there even has to be a possibility that Aaron Ramsey's association with us also began in pre Sam Hammam times.

But then though Bob would they have remained if not for the introduced Academy, I think it would have been highly unlikely, I see good lads leaving moving clubs simply because they want to play in the Academy system instead of the other option of COE. funny enough theres one at Liverpool today as we speak.

Ledley would have. he was in the 1st team before the Academy started.

This is all crap anyway. Arguing over which players' were Sams and what they were worth. If he could have got £30m for them he would have -and cleared his £24m debt.

At the tiem he left who knows what the squad were worth - but its certainly nowhere near £30m.

And who cares anyway. Its all gone now. He gambled with the club and failed, and now Ridsdale has too. We loved the good times and now need to be patient whilst Tan takes another approach. Right now i just hope we can struggle through the season and stay up and that enough fans stay with the club for us to have another crack next year.

NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! They may be worth £30m now, and that is a big maybe and that is only now!! as Daya says. There is no way on earth that you could equate the playing squad that Sam left us with at a value of £30m at the time of his departure. There was no chance of any equity from that squad for the debt. And even if there were, what would we do, sell the player, then finance the debt and have no squad???? There is no rational or sense to your argument!!!

Gunter, Ramsey, Ledley - all youngsters, there is nothing during that time that could even come close to justifying their current at that point in time value to the worth of £30m. That would have been pure speculation at that point in time to say these future players would be worth anything. Look how many young talented players are released by clubs each year, there was nothing in 2006 to guarantee their development to their current standard. And these were not Sam's as you put it, these were boys that went through our system and not bought by Sam.

Loovens, Chopra, Johnson - The only thing as I have read before that can be used to guarantee a player's value is the pirce which the club bought them at, so Loovens (£250k), Chopra (£500k) and Johnson (£275k). Lets also remember that this was the beginning of the season when Chopra first signed so there was little to justify at that point in time a value much more than what we paid, Johnson was not even first choice (it was loovens and purse).

the debt to langston still stand at £24m sam hasn't reduced it by anything unless we continue to pay £83K until december then £15m final payment more like £17m overall not £10m!
