Sam's first season when after beating Lincoln City on the Tuesday with a very late comeback, we did the same again on the Saturday against Hartlepool United. Hartlepool took the lead with a minute to go and their (not very many fans) were bouncing, as you would only for Cardiff to score immediately from kick-off and then Kurt Nogan snatched a winner with the last kick of the match does a Klinnsman style dive celebration and me and my mate were out of the lower grandstand (Grange End) and ran down the sideline, danced with Sam on the side of the pitch, knicking his baseball cap, trying it on and passing it back. Turned and looked to the stunned Hartlepool with 'what a wasted journey'.
:ayatollah: Remember this. I was in block A of the lower grand stand for both - awesome! :ayatollah:

1. v Villa April 1960 - one of the greatest days in Cardiff City's history, Graham Moore nets the winner in front of an estimated crowd of 54,000 to clinch our place in top flight football, I had just turned 13 and was taken along by my late dad and friends

2. v Tottenham Hotspur March 1961 - Saturday night game, due to a rugby international in the afternoon at the Arms Park. This was the "double" winning Spurs side we beat! My schoolboy hero Derek Tapscott scored the winner, I went with 2 of my friends (who lived next door) and they're late dad, the younger brother now sits next to me at the new stadium, we've "seen it all" to coin a phrase.

3.v Real Madrid, March 1971 - A night of euphoria and happiness to ease those painful memories of that Hamburg heartache three years earlier, I was one of the 47,500 to cram into Ninian Park to witness a famous win. Teenager Nigel Rees was released by the Welsh youth to play for us and provided the cross for the great late Brian Clark to nod the winner. Brian Clark was one the most popular players to grace our former home, he scored over 100 goals in all competitions, but this one against Real Madrid is easily the most memorable.

I could list a top 20 easily, being one of the "older" city fans. Still enjoy a drink and a laugh (especially when we win!)

I remember that one :D

I'll never forget the first time I walked into Ninian Park as a kid, was just blown away.

The following Christmas, I had a full City kit with the number 9 on the back. Next home game I went to, I insisted one wearing my kit, and ONLY my kit! I was sat there in the Canton stand in Shirt, shorts, Socks and boots, freezing my little bollocks off! I was so cold we had to leave at half time - Dad was less than amused!

Good: Jimmy-Floyd's goal in the FA Cup two years ago where he tricked the defender, turned and curled left-footed the ball into the top of the net. One of the best goals I've ever seen down there....

Bad: Watching people 'rip' the old stadium apart when we likely had one game to go (in the play-offs). I know we c****d it up in Sheffield but that's not the point....how would the bandwagon jumpers have found their seats????

Hmmm, just thought....maybe the 'Jacks' throwing seats at the elderly and children in the Grandstand when 'away' supporters were based up there was a bigger bad-point. I've never forgotten that....and is why I have NO respect for them.
