How do you even think that is true?
We were heading one direction. When sacked we were one point above the relegation zone having lost three nil to Southampton in an insipid performance.
Some will blame Tan and say the players were affected by the goings on between Malky and Tan. For a start there was one side where that was coming from and it wasn’t Tan. Malky aired all his dirty laundry in public to get the sympathy vote. Also, if the players were behind Malky as much as is said shouldn’t they have performed a lot better than that match v Southampton? The performance after his sacking (2 all draw with Sunderland) was a lot better performance.
Results before he was sacked
Southampton lost three nil
Liverpool lost three one
Beat WBA one nil in a poor game. Thankfully they were also poor and sacked their manager after this game.
Crystal Palace lost two nil (team that came up with us)
Stoke City drew nil nil
Arsenal lost three nil
Man Utd drew two all
Aston Villa lost two nil
People make out we were flying under Malky, we only won four games and our plan A of set pieces had been well and truly found out proven by lack of goals. Before the WBA game we had gone 335 minutes without a goal.
The two teams who came up with us, having spent a massive amount less 2012 and 2013 both managed to stay up. Why? Because they had better managers. And they didn’t buy an 11 million pound cart horse and give him 45k a week.
I know people like to have rose tinted glasses and distort history but f**k me there’s some bollocks on this post being spouted (some of it via social media I will say).
Neil, your obsession against Malky, due to your support and love for Tan, is totally over shadowing your judgement.
I have only put 3% of the replies on fb on here and its funny all these Cardiff City fans on Facebook with their real names/photos all supported and love Malky.
Your entitled to your opinion like them and me, but his record at Cardiff City was fantastic until Tan turned on him and Malky will go down in history as a hero, even though Tan was obsessed to ruin his reputation.
For me Malky is in My top 5 managers at Cardiff City and this is my 50th consecutive season![]()
Annis, you know full well I’ve not got a love for Tan just a respect. We have discussed this many times. For you to say so is disingenuous.
I just see Malky for what he was. Not a great manager who had a loooootttttttttt of support. He’s not a Warnock or even a Dave Jones. He’s probably the third best manager we have had in the 2000s in my opinion.
He got promoted from the championship with a points total that wouldn’t have been promoted most other seasons scoring the least goals a title winning side have ever scored.
I don’t hate Malky. I am sad that with the resources he had he didn’t make us better for longer. I just can’t abide bollocks and when people talk bollocks I have to pull them for it. I can’t help it.
The guy who said we would still be in the premier if Tan had kept Malky in charge is wrong. However, had DJ been given the same money as Malky then we might have been.
You cant say someone's opinion is wrong and yours is right based on something that never happened. We'll never know how that season would have gone. We could have been well relegated, we could have survived by a point or we could have pulled away. Every season in the prem teams are in and out of the relegation zone up until the last games of the season .
It is pretty well document that Dave Jones let players do whatever they wanted. Its probably the main reason he never got us promoted. I loved the football under Jones but there is nothing to suggest he would have kept us in the prem as he bottled the big occasions.
The fans choose Malky over Tan and Tan then did his best to ruin his career.
I know I can’t. I’m not the one who is dealing in certainties saying Malik would have kept us up.
He said 'probably' still be a prem side if we didn't sack him. An opinion many people share.
I’m not gonna insult your intelligence by saying check the posts and see how many people say with certainty Malky would have kept us up.
But check the posts.
MY WHOLE POINT IS BASED ON THE FACT NO ONE CAN SAY FOR CERTAIN IF HE WOULD HAVE OR NOT.
How many exactly then? I think you're the one who needs to check the thread.
You are right though, no one can say for sure. So not sure why you're getting so worked up over it. You're hard on for Tan is cringey. I'm not sure who is more angry that the fans chose malky over Tan, you or Tan

Did we choose Malky though? Who is still here and who has taken a job at Ross County?
I’m not worked up. I don’t get worked up by stuff on this board. I just feel someone needs to correct bollocks of which there was a lot posted (Albeit mostly on Facebook).
I appreciate what Malky did however feel that with the resources he had he could have done a lot better. Palace and Hull had better managers and did better than us in the premier league despite spending a lot less.

Was his phone hacked ?
Or was it just a case of him leaving his phone unattended for a few minutes, someone picked it up, opened up his SMS and took photos of the messages or something similar ??
The media went all out to make an example of Malky and exaggerated everything to blacken his reputation in my opinion.
However, there was never any mention about how his private messages were leaked in the first place ?

Not very difficult to hack a phone, so I expect it was something like that.
Obviously I don't know that and can't prove it, but don't see how else.
He said stuff to the midfielder Kim we had but he was never offended so he wouldn't have leaked anything.

I thought it was all done on a work phone or something stupid so it was all visible to the club?
Either way, I don’t think I ever saw Kimbo speaking English so I do wonder if he really had any idea what was being said

If they were investigating Moody for suspected dodgy transfers, seems a little unreasonable (and possibly against the Law ??) to release the details of his personal text messages though ?
Especially unreasonable to Malky if he wasn't even the person being investigated.
Well and truly stitched up 100%

But they're not personal if they are on a company phone & your contract says that everything on that phone belongs to the company. If you're going to do dodgy shit on your phone make sure it's your own personal phone & even then it's not guaranteed to stay secret.

Don’t know how you work out he got stitched up?
He wrote the vulgar texts and was then stupid enough to send them. Only one person to blame.

How do you know his texts were vulgar? Have you seen them?
I'm still confused why Kim Bo-Kyung signed for Malky a second time at Wigan, or why Tan wasted millions scraping the barrel trying to dig up anything he could without success?
