A conservative government would implement the same speed limits. All parties are controlled by bodies that operate globally. That's why it's happening all over the world at the same time. This is the 15 minutes lockdown policy from WEF. The whole world will have the same mandate from them.

Car travel will be minimalised, flying and shipping banned, meat banned and a bunch of other measures that will effect heating, construction and manufacturing.

20 mph speed limit is just the beginning. Welcome to agenda 2030.

Sounds a bit 1984 / sinister that!? :-)

Are we walking Majestic 12 / Illuminati pulling the strings here so we all comply dutifully, lie down and take it? #New World Order

I read an article about three years ago giving a case of why Tesla stock is still undervalued. I think Tesla is worth more than Ford, General Motors, Toyota, Volkswagen and Stellantis combined !!!!

The theory is we won't own cars in the future, especially towns and cities. Autonomous taxis (tesla's) will pick you up, share rides, and with public transport get you to wherever you want to go. We use our cars very little in reality, 99% of the time it's dormant on your drive or work car park. So the theory is Uber/Tesla combo has thousands of cars per city all doing whatever you program them to do and in theory are safer.

I see in San Fransisco driverless taxis operate at night, some passengers don't feel safe, but a lot of single-passenger females prefer them.

I don't see the future as dystopian as some, i doubt dopey drakey is part of the Illuminati, just an ideologue with a massive majority and a progressive groupthink mindset.

May have already been mentioned but does anybody know how many votes labour got to get into power?
Interested to see how it compares and wether if petition can get to more.
They may have to listen then?
Also not really into politics so when's the next election. The sooner the better.

Labour got 443,047 in the last Arsembly farce. Tories got 289,802. That was in the constituency vote - not the regional stuff which is the D'Hondt system of vote sharing/distribution.

General looking likely for May 2024.

Arsembly, might be 2025 or even 2026 as they are pissing about with stuff in order to get their tentacles further into the trough. The latest one is auto-registration of voters.

No bad thing you could argue - its the implementation that should worry you - they propose dipping any data source they fancy - DVLA, Council tax, NHS records, the list is endless - they will then cross-reference each data stream to collate and auto-register voters from 16 up, so in reality 15 up. No mention of gaining permission of the data subject (you or I) to do this data dipping.

And yet at the next election the people of Wales like the idiots that they are will vote Labour back in with a huge majority giving them full authority to carry on with these madcap policies knowing that they can do whatever they like and they'll still be voted in because "my dad and grandad and great granddad voted labour so I will too.

No wonder these knobheads like Drakeford think they can do what the f**k they want and get away with it - they can.

And therein lies the main problem. The voting Welsh sheep (and the turnout is never great) flock around Labour Party because they know little else and this gives our tin-pot Labour representatives the belief that they can do what they want; and they certainly do...

Wait until Mark Drakeford's successor comes in; then we'll see how 'Big Brother' (or should I say 'Brawd Mawr'?) is no longer 'watching' but in full 'attack' mode...

The Sennedd; wasting our time and money since 1998...

Worth remembering that the Tories voted for this policy too1

Not quite what Sunak is saying.

Re: Wow , Well over 400,000 ‘ Sign Petition against 20mph ‘

Rishi Sunak says he wants to stop "hare-brained" road calming and safety schemes, including 20mph zones, to end what he said was a "war on motorists".

The prime minister said that he wanted to ensure such measures would no longer be "forced" on drivers.

There would also be a review of Low Traffic Neighbourhoods, or LTNs, in England to ensure they are not introduced without local support.

The shadow transport secretary said the plans were "pure hypocrisy".

The government said it was publishing a "new long-term plan" to "put the brakes on anti-car measures".

It would also look at preventing the introduction on the concept of the "15-minute city" - where essential amenities are always within a 15-minute walk.

It comes weeks after the PM delayed the introduction of a ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel cars.

The thing that will stop this petition in it's tracks is the first months stats. If they show a significant drop in the number of accidents/fatalities it will significantly weaken the position of the petition anyway.I mean lets face it most of us are against it because it just pisses us off.

Re: Wow , Well over 400,000 ‘ Sign Petition against 20mph ‘

Well I think it's going to be difficult to glean any data from the first month, when the claim is it is hoped to reduce deaths by 6 for the whole year. Month on month statistics will alter anyway. As for people being pissed off with it I think goes much deeper. People are pissed off with the way the incumbents down the Bay are treating the public. Ridiculous rules during lockdown, 5 mile journeys, Aisles in supermarkets being closed off with cling film, 50MPH limits on motorways and other trunk roads. Reviews of other speed limits on the way. Road pricing and no go car areas also in the pipeline. Another 36 members with all their hangers on imminent. Yes people are getting pissed off, but it's not just the 20MPH limit is it?

Bang on the money. People are pissed off at being ridden roughshod over with all these ill conceived virtue signalling policies.

Wales is a one party state / dictatorship and they're getting away with it because the populace keep voting them in (albeit with derisory voter turnouts).

I think we all want a clearer environment for future generations and less private cars around the city centre but you need first class public transport / cycling infrastructure first.

At the moment, it's just constant nanny state meddling from a tin pot gentleman's social club.
