Some decent stuff from the Bluebirds at times and a good run from Josh Bowler sees the ball sent across towards the Saints goal but again withput the desired end product...
Rubin Colwill looking like he might make a difference, as he and Karlan Grant take the game to the Saints...
As I type, Karlan Grant shoots just wide with a low, curling shot from the left...
Life in this game yet...!

Southampton now bossing the game.

This is embarrassing it's like championship vs non league

Southampton could have scored 5 on another day.
Amazing that if we nick a goal we still have a chance.
Personally, I think Etete should get achance upfront. He was starting to play well until he got injured and Bulut syarted picking Robinson and Meite as starters upfront. Coming on now!

Poor again!! We were extremely lucky to pick up the points last weekend. Another couple of defeats and we will slide right down the league.

Southampton have missed a few chances but the Bluebirds are making a fist of it without affecting the scoreline...
Colwill and Ralls have looked lively sunce coming on and a goal for the Bluebirds now woukdn't be unjust...

What a wanker Russell Martin is!
Sarcastically applauding Ollie Tanner.
What a sad, sad man!

Very poor performance. The subs have done nothing. Southampton have bossed this game just like WBA did to us.

Some great stuff from the Bluebirds sees Colwill and Etete combine for what would have been a superb Bluebird goal...

Start of the season if someone said to you Ramsey injured for 3 months, and you’ll be inside the top half at this stage, we’d of snapped their hands off.
Bulut has performed absolute miracles. We need an out and out goalscorer. We make chances, but don’t finish enough of them!

Our last 3 games, we’ve played 3 teams all above us in the league at the time of playing.
Two of those three teams, have really hit form, and I’ve no doubt both WBA and Southampton will be challenging that top 2.
We got 3 points out of a possible 9. A very tough run of games.
Stop with the doom and gloom for f**k sake!

Another disappointing result but it might have been worse after conceding two early goals...
The Bluebirds put a shift in and kept the score down with a little bit of help from Lady Luck...
FINAL SCORE: SOUTHAMPTON 2 - 0 CARDIFF CITY (90+4 mins)

That does not take away the fact that was a poor performance. I would say the last few games the cracks have become evident in our squad. I'll be happy when we have hit the 42 point mark that is usually the survival mark. It could be less this season because there are some very weak teams this season.

Back onto thinking we may go down?

I think you mean 52 points, as that is generally accepted as the points total that usually ensures safety.

Not a poor performance. We will have to agree to disagree on this point.
The players worked hard to try and do something. We had chances to score, but didn’t take them. We are missing a goalscorer, and a couple of other final bits, but cannot put that down as a poor performance.
It was just the fact that Southampton’s team is streets ahead of ours. WBA, Leeds, Leicester, and Southampton are streets ahead of all the teams in this division. It’s not an opinion, it’s a fact.

That was yet another poor performance from the City. After going 2-0 down in 15 minutes, we came back well in the last 15 minutes of the first half, but we were carrying a few players without doubt. It was disappointing therefore that we resorted to this pedestrian way of getting out of our own half when the second half started. We got even worse as the half progressed and we were extremely lucky to escape with only a two goal defeat. The majority of our team were poor on the day and my marks would be as follows:-
Runarsson - 5 - poor once again, and he only gets that score for a couple of second half saves.
NG - 6 - was not his usual self and made a few errors which could have been costly
Collins - 4 - as usual got caught out of position a lot , and his passing abysmal
Goutas - 6 - better of the centre backs and made some good blocks
McGuiness - 4- poor game today, very slow getting the ball out and ponderous, and caught out of position a few times
Wintle - 4 - poor display today from him
Siopis - 4 - tried hard but unusually today off form
Bowler -4 - a few good runs but overall slow and almost cost us a goal on one occasion
Meite - 4 - no support, but didn’t do anything of note.
Robinson - 2- absolutely dreadful match. Did not get involved at all and looked too cold to make any effort.
Grant - 5 - nothing special but did have a couple of very good runs. Perhaps, should have scored one.
Subs:
Colwill -4 - started well but faded badly
Tanner - not on long enough
Ugbo - Ditto
Ralls - ditto
Manager - 3 - poor management, as he kept to the usual pedestrian way of playing out of defence, even when still 2 down.
Southampton, in fairness looked a very good side, but when we attacked them at the end of the first half, they looked vulnerable. However, we resorted to the negative tactics again in the second half, and Southampton gained confidence again.
Can’t wait for the transfer window now.
