If you know anything about our hierarchy, you'll know that nothing gets announced until they are ready. Erol Bulut is still away with his family and so the finer details left to work out may be a little spread out in their conclusion

I just said there was a hold up, what's confusing about that?

The season finished ages ago, and it's a total shambles, they should be prioritising, announcing it, and structuring the season ahead.

PS I wasn't blaming you personally, I was saying Tan, Dalman and Bulut need to get a shift on

No worries, I didn't take it like that

I agree this should have been put to bed well before now but if sources are correct, it should be sorted soon and in time to start the required changes of personnel, etc. that usually commence in early June

Assuming Erol Bulut has done his planning in advance (he says he knows who he wants) we will be okay :ayatollah:

If true, hopefully Bulut has screwed a decent budget out of Vince.

I don't claim to be an expert but surly the budget is dependent on FFP? Vince simply can't put his hand in his pocket and give Bulut £millions because that will lead to a points deduction.

Over the past 2 seasons we have a combined loss of £40m. The club is only permitted to lose £39m over 3 years. On face value it would seem we need to make a £1m profit this season to comply with FFP.

I am quite sure it is not that simple and some expenditure (like the academy which was opened recently) doesn't count towards FFP. Also, there is that court case we won against the insurance Brooker. So, there might be some wriggle room, but I wouldn't think it is much.

The loss from 3 years ago will drop out so I believe we can still make a substantial loss this year and be compliant

I also don’t think we will spend any money on actual transfers just loans and free agents which still cost a fortune in wages for the best available

As far as I am aware and I may be wrong, FFP starts again this year for the new period.

If wrong then please someone correct me.

It's a rolling 3 year period so never a "new period "

Correct, the previous two seasons figures still count... :ayatollah:

It's a three year "moving average" as opposed to a fixed three year date, so dynamic. The maximum permitted loss is £13M per season which by my calcs doesn't give us much wriggle room this season despite our last loss being half of the previous season.

That said, we do have two payments that will provide easement which may give us circa £10M even if our wage bill stays at where it is and my assumptions are correct, which they may not be, as I believe we will get £5M EFL in 2 tranches and I am assuming around £5M from the OOC Millers insurance broker settlement.

Just my view on this and I maybe wrong, but that seems to be around the state of play of what's possible budgetwise. But the most important thing is budget, as it drives everything else at this level and especially if you have sustainable PL ambitions as an owner who needs it to sell at a high and get his £250M back.

FFP should be voted out ,some may say it suits bigger clubs but I think some little clubs are going to fall out of league anyway and perhaps some might go semi professional.
Hopefully the greedy ones will one day get their super league and piss off so the rest of us can go back to proper wages and everyone in with a chance not just five or six.

What’s awful and disrespectful is the way the fans are treated - the lifeblood of the club. And yet they want to sell season tickets. Well I’m not as a matter of principle. BUT this is a personal decision and I have no problems with whatever others decide.

Your right so we need to sell a few assets to buy other players or raise our ticket sakes sponsorship etc

I'm told they are sorting out the last of the legals before announcing

Any source is only as good as the quality of his/her information and I could still end apologising; but one way of looking at it is by asking if our owner would genuinely have not have let Erol Bulut go by now, if he didn't want him to stay or they were miles apart?

I think the fact it's rolling on edges towards Erol Bulut staying and Vincent Tan being on board with that, which should mean planning for next season is already in progress :ayatollah:

Christ, the irritability of some of our fans.

This is a multimillion pound industry, Bulut and the club and this is purely an uneducated guess are probably talking about at least a million pound deal over two years with massive incentives as that's what Tan likes with all sorts of caveats stacked inside.

Then there are tax implications, is he Turkish or German; where is he domiciled if he brings his family? I bet he isn't ringing the HMRC hotline.

Then when its all signed, in our 125th anniversary year, I guess the club will want a media blitz with the retained manager looking down the camera and speaking to all the waverers telling us he has learned loads and the championship is tougher than he realized. Still, he has got the blueprint to success, come and join me and get the early bird tickets before the summer break. He'll say we have to sell as the squad isn't where he wants it, but he has young talented players lined up.

I'll be honest, i was hoping the club were speaking to Cooper, Bellamy or Giggs but accept it was going to be a long process

UPDATE:

TUESDAY 28th MAY 2024:

They have been chatting Dalman and Bulut.

But they have still been at odds end over the length of contract.

Bulut has so far had NO offers from other clubs.

I won't say this reflects badly on the whole club but its crap PR for Tan and the other puppets" they call the Board. If it made any sense at all, I would believe they were actually trying to destroy the club!

How do you know he’s had no other offers??? Surely only Bulut and his agent would now that!!

It is a fair question though - there is deafening silence around Bulut but to say with such certainty that he has not had any other offers seems a bit far fetched, unless it is because he has not announced a move

Re: SOURCES: EROL BULUT TO STAY!

No problem with Bulut staying not a great lover of the football we played last season but the playing budget is the most important thing .We definitely need some pace and legs in the team all over .A striker is top priority and both full back and centre half positions .Midfield is an area where Bulut really needs to work out what we need ,athletic and skilful players don’t come cheap maybe some premier loans will be the only answer there . :old: :bluebird:
