Give the lad a chance.

Everyone will support the player, it just seems like another gamble. We are not in a position to gamble and if this gamble doesn't pay off we will be in league 1 next season. Risk vs Reward. Pay the extra for a proven Striker (10 mil) or Risk losing a hell of a lot more money with relegation. I'm sure the board has thought about this ?? or maybe not.

All signings are gambles one way or another mate. Name a player we should / could have signed?

Could pay the extra and the player get injured injuries I the first minute of his debut, it’s all swings and roundabouts mate.

Let’s hope the gamble pays off.

Andrew,

It’s because we have for 4 years Signed a lot of Dud Signings.

Lots longer than that for strikers.

Keifer Moore the last one we got any good.

Agree with the protest on Saturday.

But our fans don't help themselves when they write off players before they've even seen them play.

People who know Salech say he's perfectly suited to English football and will be great in and around the box - which is what we have all said we need.

I think Steve Borley wasn’t a million miles off was he?

True, but by signing a proven player you lower the risk. I'm not a football scout so can't comment on who's available. But a general rule is, you pay for what you get.

Got to take the gamble and try someone different. The next month is going to be very tough with some of the fixtures .

Very true you do pay for what you get? But the problem is can only buy whats available and in cases of strikers you cannot just buy as clubs need to keep their strikers so only availability is ones surplus to requirements? Now those are deemed a risk for buying club like city..

Surely has to be better than Meite , Kanga and Colwill out of position
Stick him in against the Jacks, worked with Daland

Hopefully it's all done and dusted for him to be involved Saturday. We have a tendency to keep things under wraps til official announcement / welcome video. :bluescarf:

Well if believe reports it's
done deal says 24hrs but really need him in training tomorrow for Saturday

Think the rule is he needs to be registered by 12pm on Friday to be eligible for Saturday.

Hopefully gets done by then so he can be on the bench. Can't see him starting with limited training sessions.

If Carlsberg did strikers! He'd come of the bench and score the winner against the Jacks. :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Cardiff City are set to make striker Yousef Salech their first signing of the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old, who plays for Swedish side Sirius, has had his medical and is expected to cost between £3m and £4m.

Championship strugglers Cardiff are keen to add to their attacking options having managed only 26 goals from 26 league games this season.

Salech, who is 6ft 5in, scored 11 goals from 27 appearances in the Swedish top flight last season.

Cardiff manager Omer Riza would not confirm the club's interest in Salech but said: "We are in the process in respect of transfers and are working hard.

"We are coming closer to getting some stuff done. Until we see them in a blue shirt with a badge on their chest you can never be certain. Things are moving forward."

Born in Denmark to a Palestinian father and Polish mother, Salech also qualifies to play for Jordan.

If he is registered as a Cardiff player by midday on Friday, his debut could come in Saturday's south Wales derby against Swansea City at Cardiff City Stadium.

The Bluebirds are short of genuine centre-forwards, with Wilfried Kanga failing to score in 16 appearances on loan from Hertha Berlin this season.

Kion Etete only made his first appearance of the campaign last week after a hamstring injury, while the untried Roko Simic is back at the club after an unsuccessful loan at KV Kortrijk.

I think I read he hasn't played since November - if that is true he will not feature on Saturday.

Only because the Swedish season finished then.

Their season starts on 5 January so his pre season training should be pretty advanced, so some time on Saturday is possible.

But he hasn' t signed yet

Negative is the first port of call for so many.
