Fair play I didnt think we would sell out and so quickly, looks like we could have sold a couple of thousand more

surprised alot of fans thought we wouldn't sell out quickly

Villa one of the top teams in the prem massive following great tradition lots of fans missed out going to villa park last time in prem and a quarter final at stake

was always going to sell out quick even a Friday night game

wouldn't it be nice to pick up 6 points in the next 2 games and go there with a bit of confidence . :bluescarf:

Was always? :?

Our club (as reported regularly by Forever Blue) has a fantastic core of away supporters; but their numbers have been pretty poor for the last season or two, so ‘expecting’ a Villa Park sell-out was a pleasant surprise rather than a assumption! :ayatollah:

Not familiar with Birmingham city centre so where's the best area for a pre and after match drink so I can book a convenient hotel.

There's a few right next to Villa Park that allow away fans in. Some will ask for colours to be covered though.

Witton Arms is about a five minute walk from the away end (the normal away end by the corner flag). That's where I normally go when I've watched us there, it's split between home and away fans.

Why were we assured that we had taken the full allocation of 6,500 when it appears that we only committed to 5,500?
Given the great sales uptake are we able to go back for the additional 1,000 tickets?

Unlikely we'll be able to ask for 1,000 more because the game is in a week so Villa will have already started selling those tickets to their own fans.

From what I'm aware the first 5 rows of seats in the top tier will be netted off so they can't be sold to villa fans which makes it all the more bizzare that we can't have the extra thousand

If that's right, very strange and they should just ask Villa if we can sell them.

Because I know a lot of people who didn't get a ticket want to go - we would definitely sell them.

Hope you're okay Dan. There's still about 30 tickets left online in the upper tier behind the goal if you're well enough to go.

Afternoon all.

Things have changed since your last visit, all pubs around the ground are now home fans only. This includes the Witton Arms which is no longer half and half and is now Villa only.

Good to see you've sold out, all home tickets sold out today so it will be a full house all round.

Great news that it will be a full house.

Thanks for the update about the pubs.

Can you advise on where away fans these days go for a drink pre-match?

Away fans drink in the city centre (Briar Rose is always popular with away fans) these days and get the train into Aston or Witton, which are both a short walk to the ground. It got lively outside the Witton Arms when Celtic fans were escorted off the train at Witton. Not saying it will be the same with you but the police may cattle you off the train and to the ground if a big group of Cardiff 'lads' end up on the train from Brum.

Not really. Star City is good if you want food or want to entertain the kids for a couple of hours before the game, but it's around a half an hour walk from VP. City centre definitely your best option if you want a few beers.

Thanks very much for the information :thumbright:

Hopefully be a good evening, we obviously don't expect to be on the winning side.
