Never knowen it to be this bad before with the snow
You're kidding right ? This snow is a dusting to my memorys of 2011 when we had non stop snow near enough for 3-4 weeks solid in Lladaff North. All of Cardiff and most of the UK was crippled by the snow as you were talking to have had at least 3 foot of snow in parts. And even worse I remember back in 1983 we had even deeper snow than that.. i was living in Whitchurch at the time, and the snow was so deep you could walk on all the lanes of the M4 motorway and the Coryton interchange. I remember seeing cars just abandoned on the M4, it was freaky, it was literally a deserted motorway in the north of Cardiff. They also had rations of bread and milk in the shops in Whitchurch Village, and people would be queueing outside of them for miles.
This snow is a dusting really in comparison to all that. Don't know why the UK just can't function with this little amount ? Kind of stupid really when the Canadians can have snow waist deep and still keep public transport and schools running as normal.
Try driving when the snow is in your face/windscreen - you can't see the line markings on the road, idiots on the other side of the road driving on my side of the road -
As for how deep the snow was - try going back to the early 80's and that bad winter we had.
