They love a bit of discussion of the merits of Celtic and the other "major" Scottish team. Apart from a few equally small minded "other team" supporters that used to live in South London I've never had any problems with anyone from Scotland.

They are some of the most generous and genuine people you would ever wish to meet. I have one very good friend who is a "other team" season ticket holder, his best mate is a Celtic season ticket holder, one of my best mates is a Kilmarnock season ticket holder. Last time I met them all was in Berlin a few weeks back with a Motherwell supporter and a Dundee supporter (that is Dundee not Dundee United). The Motherwell and Dundee guys were the only ones that lived in Scotland let alone the UK. As usual they all agreed that Scottish football will not progress until the Glasgow crap gets knocked on the head. Supporters of the many other clubs in Scotland get really pissed off that all attention is concerntrated on f*cking Glasgow Celtic and the other one.

Its Cowdenbeath for me, the Brecon Corries of Scotland.

I notice nobody has commented on the above, too much left wing bitterness I suppose.

Almost all your posts have some derogatory remarks about people being left wing.
Give a fuckin rest will you, it is beyond tiresome.
No one commented on you post as there is nothing to comment about.

Agreed! its f*cking irritating .."ooooh the labour fucked up this" öohh you bloody left wing morons"....

Personally I prefer Celtic to Rangers.

Tbh I dislike Glasgow Rangers far more than any other club (inc' Swansea). I am sure that there are plenty of decent Rangers fans out there, i've just not had the good fortune to meet them.

I do agree though that I don't like to hear Celtic singing pro IRA songs. Although given the way that British troops have behaved on the island of Ireland historically, is it really surprising that Celtic have an element amongst their support who are less than fullsome in their praise of the British army ?

On the subject of the British army personally I don't think they are above criticism. Imo they deserve full respect for doing a tough and dangerous job, the same as firemen and nurses .But also like firemen and nurses they chose to do that particular job. They are not conscripts.

So big respect to them but are they any more heroic than other public servants doing tough and dangerous jobs ?

Unbelievable thread.

Celtic are one of THEE biggest clubs in the world. A club steeped with great tradition. The first team in britain to win the european cup. A lot of people like to forget that Britain(our perfect, never do wrong union of peace) invaded Ireland trying to claim their land as "our" own. So of course the Irish who were not willing to back down and lick the unions feet opposed this horrible invasion and fought against it.

This is where Celtic come in to it. Celtic as you know have a massive connection to ireland. The man who FOUNDED our club was IRISH. So then why should Celtic need to wear a poppy on their shirt? So that some of our irish fans, who spend money week in week out, spending a fortune to come over here to watch their bhoys play watch the players run out with a poppy that symbolizes the british army. An army that killed THEIR OWN FAMILY. What and they should just accept that?

I completely disagree with the booing for the minute silence as in this case they should have waited outside the ground and then came in if they felt that strong about it.

BUT you tell me, that you reverse everything now and you wouldn't feel the hatred they do for the british army.

I come over to your country, tell you its now MY country and if you disagree I will kill you or send you to prison. No you dont, you would be f*cking LIVID. But its ok, because it happened to Ireland eh?

I honestly have no idea how ANYONE can support a team like rangers, I really dont. Thee most sectarian club in the world. Even on their forums the word catholic is appeared as "C******c" not by users choice, its an automated thing. You dont have to take my word for it, go on and try it yourself.

Now cardiff are a great team and I wish them all the best, their fans from what I've known are TOP NOTCH. BUT some of the comments on here disgrace the majority.

Are you REALLY that stupid? Like seriously? I dont think I need to explain the irish famine to you and why there we're so many irish people living in the glasgow area at the time of celtic being founded. So when an irish boy in the middle of glasgow with no money and is sweeping streets and finds a football club, run by a well respected irish and all round great man that would help put a shelter over his head and give him food he should IGNORE that? Hypocrisy? I dont think you know the meaning of the word "chief". Question is, are you broud of Britain, do you think its the be all and end all? I dont believe i am stupid Chief just responding to your post which states supporters come over from Ireland to support Celtic. If another Country invaded our land hell and high water would not persuade me to go and find work in that Country. But in short i am not interested in either Celtic or Rangers but i do admire the atmosphere that Celtic fans create. But please dont get abusive again or i will fight fire with fire Chief

principle my arse the two can not be compared
for a start most jews were proud germans prior to the nazis taking over their love for israel was religous. in 1940 if they could leave nazi germany to go there im sure most would. 6,000,000 were murdered don't forget

you were born here, you make you living here, you have freedom of speach and no one is stopping you from leaving
so what principle do you have in common

It was never my intention to stir up any political issues. Thats for the politicians to sort not us as football fans.

However it was my intention to try and add a bit of spice to Wednesdays game and to try and encourage our fans to turn out and get behind our new players and give Malky a blinder of a Cardiff reception!!

Moderators an idea!! Can we change the title to THE CELTIC THREAD

stuff about the OF clubs and about politics divide this board and many of our supporters, FACT. In our position we shouldnt get distracted from supporting the greatest football team in the world, our beloved Cardiff City FC.

So why always stirr things up? I could start threads about hating Rangers, the EDL, the Royal Family, the war in the middle east etc. but why should I? Just to wind people up? Yea, great...

FFS, get behind the boys, our boys and give Malky a great reception and push our team this season so we can finally achieve what we all want; the Premier League...

As much as I do care about Celtic, I dont want to read or post about the Hoops on a Cardiff board, so to the Celtic-hate brigade and the Bhoys on here (btw.welcome fellow Tims "Hail, Hail..."), but this is all about CCFC. No probs in postings about our game vs Celtic...

Hope for a great match between these great clubs, promotion for Cardiff and the triple for Celtic this season...

Traditionally they are the more 'left wing' of the two glasgow clubs and these links will only strengthen this. imo it's a good thing. Most of my friends who 'follow' rangers only do because they have racist ideas and think rangers fit in with this. I don't see how anyone can oppose to this this anti facist, anti secterian club? yes, IRA chants etc but groups like the green brigade are working on reducing this.

Free Palestine.

Free Palestine?

Wasn't the Green Brigade responsible for the anti poppy demonstration?

Did Celtic ever ban the culprits as they stated their intentions to do so?

Celtic a left wing club? Funny as they're also a 'catholic' club and we all now where the vatican sat in respects to fascism.

Funnily enough as did the IRA who would've been happy to go along with it as lng as they achieved thier goals of a United Ireland.

Got no issue with Celtic fans but despise the tossers of both Old Firm clubs. What makes me smirk mind is how thousands get dragged into both the clubs culture and pretend to give a f**k about history, events and issues which really got no concern to them.

Plastic wannabe Paddy twats lving in Cardiff, Merthyr, Rhondda, Aberdare etc:

For absolute mongs only.

My wife lives in Aberdare and is Welsh is NOT a catholic and was a Celtic season ticket holder for 8 years when living up there a few years ago before I met her , that hardly makes her plastic when you think how many Cardiff fans come down to Wales to watch the Bluebirds from Scotland every week ....... we go to as many as possible Celtic friendlies in Wales and England due to the cost and logistics ( Swansea are taking the piss so we wont go there ) . She will tell you herself that the majority of Celtic's Irish fans are foul mouthed brainless morons with no respect for Britain BUT are happy to come over here and work , they sicken her too with their vile comments !!!! On our travels we have met plenty of decent Jocks who support Celtic and quite a few who live in Cardiff we have also met ...... we will be there on Weds in the Ninian Stand with me in my City shirt and her in the Hoops :ayatollah: :D :ayatollah:

In the interests of fairness, the wannabe Bowler hatted mongs who wear an orange sash, whistle into a recorder and idolise the little gay dwarf who was King Billy are just as bad.

f*cking laughable, especially when you're shouting 'No surrender' in Cottrel Street.

very true, the extremes of both sides are as bad as each other
