Nicky Maynard will not play for Cardiff City this season, Malky Mackay

Nicky Maynard has not been replaced
Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay has ruled out injured striker Nicky Maynard making a dramatic return this season.
The 26-year-old, who arrived from West Ham for £2.75m last summer, ruptured cruciate knee ligaments in the Bluebirds’ win at Millwall back in September.
It was only Maynard’s third appearance for Cardiff and he underwent surgery before recently returning to light training.
There had been conjecture that Maynard might be back in action to aid the Bluebirds’ push for Premier League promotion before the end of the campaign.
But Mackay said yesterday this would not be the case with the emphasis now on getting the frontman fully fit to take part in pre-season training this summer.

Not suprised at all considering the injury, I know people who have had this injury and not easy to come back quickly, Even though NM has got better facilities. NM see you in the premier league (Hopefully)

We already knew this was the case.
No hidden agenda or secret message.
His Cruciate ligament takes a long time to repair, his rehabilitation is underway and light training and strength conditioning for his knee will now commence.
If this goes well then yes he could possibly play a part of our campaign. However all parties involved have stated that they would want to give Nicky maximum recovery time.
