More fans who have been banned, should make more of a fuss, the problem seems to be, that most fans who have been banned for relative minor offences just except it. Makes it easy for the courts and powers that be to hand down way over the top bans, knowing they won't be challenged.

A football banning order is not mandatory upon conviction. It depends upon the nature of the original offence.

The banning orders are designed to prevent violence. Therefore where the substantive offence is not violent or there is a risk of violence, a banning order does not automatically follow

We had an order overturned on Appeal to Cardiff Crown Court a few years back on the same point.

It is also possible to ask that the order is removed after a proportion of it has been served.

That said, it's always advisable not to place yourself at risk of arrest in the first place!

I think the amount of travelling to and from court cases is the biggest factor in fans just pleading guilty. I pleaded not guilty to offences at a swansea game and i had to attend court 3 times before the final hearing and that was hardwork even in cardiff my solicitor said at the time if i had pleaded guilty i'd have been dealt with one one hearing.

It is very simple, don't behave like a knob and you are unlikely to get arrested or banned.

Brilliant video. Great to see supporters standing up to the thugs in blue. Some coppers are great but it is so nice to see the scum ones on the back foot. Cowards using their badge to bully 45 year old blokes.
