ITS GOING TO BE 1 STRIKER

Coming in, not as many posts suggest saying we are going for 2. like malky said a defender is his priority but i can see us getting 2 defenders and 1 striker

I cant see us signing more than 1 striker either. No doubt Malky has his preferred option and there will hopefully be a back plan if that fails.

From the posts on here and the stuff in the papers the most likely transfers would be Jerome, Austin or Sordell. My guess is that Austin would be top of the list but whether we could afford him or whether he wants to come is questionable. I don't think Sordell is that keen on a move here otherwise it would have been done by now and lets be honest would probably have happened last season. So the most likely at the moment imho would be Jerome, he's definitely available, its just whether he wants to drop down a division. I hope that we go for Austin, he's the right age and his record at this level is good.

If Charlie Austin is worth £6m I personally would pay it. Worst case scenario is that he could be worth £4m in the future and therefore our risk is £2m (i.e not £6m)

I personally think this is an attractive risk given the potential rewards available on promotion
