could be lies, but imagine what he said was true? imaging him trying to ring other chairmen telling them to wear their away kit and he'll give them a few quid? they'd have Tan on loudspeaker and everyone in the boardroom listening in, laughing quietly

Re: Vincent Tan

if the man wants my respect he needs to offer the buy out clause in lionel messi's contract! its only 250 mil euros! ;)
hes number 1015 on the forbes rich list 9th in malaysia worth 1.2 billion.. he also has 11 kids!!!

seriously, i really doubt he actually said anything like that... although we could def do with a football man upstairs.

Re: Vincent Tan

Wed Jan 16, 2013 10:10 pm

I heard tan has asked for the team to do a version of the haka before each match.
It's going to rebranded as the koi carp dance though.

I also heard he's banned all blue shirts from the club shop they can only be sold behind the counter......... Oh wait

Yes, things like traditions and identities....

Why not change the club name? More to supporting the team than just a name.

That's different, if the Malaysians changed the name from Cardiff City to Malaysia FC (Just an example) then it would be a different club.

It's only a part of the identity. Only a name, just like it's only a colour/badge!

No no no no, the name IS the identity of the club. The colour is just a colour, don't get me wrong I'd prefer blue but I'm not going to stop supporting City due to the changes. If they changed their name then I'd probably stop.

Colour/crest/bluebird all part of identity too. Who cares about that though, we are top and getting Fraizer Campbell.

Re: Vincent Tan

Vincent Tan wants a brand new identity, he doesn't want anything of the old before his arrival. A clubs colour is its identity but that Identity is not required under the new vision.

Yes, only chose a brilliant young manager, invested in new players, has his team at the top of the Championship and heading(hopefully) for the Premiership!!

What a failure!!

Needs a lesson indeed. Perhaps YOU could sit dow with him and explain where he needs to improve!!

He needs to improve on respecting a fan base and respecting footballing traditions and clubs traditions & identities. :D

I guess he would just point to record season ticket sales and record attendances tho.

Doesn't show that the fans don't want it? Loyal fans will back their club no matter what, it's undeniable that 99.9% of City boys would prefer to see their club in their traditional colours, if it was just a straight red/blue choice.

Re: Vincent Tan

Thu Jan 17, 2013 12:17 am

He's a tw*t. If Carl was correct about the academies phasing out blue altogether, same with the first team kit, then I don't think i'll ever be able to go again 'till it's changed back. And i'm not exaggerating
