Yep it's the doom merchants dream day tomorrow ..

Expect all the finger pointing and name calling to go up a few notches..

Truth is , we have all sipped from the devils cup. And only the riches of the prem will aide us.

To get there, we will have to keep sipping for the time being.

I reckon the BBC will make a big rutt about it, very similar to our carrot crunching neighbours.

31 May

I would imagine most clubs would be the same.

Tomorow seems a bit early if the clubs past record is anything to go by though.

Its funny how people think getting to the prem will solve all our problems .
Swansea made a reported 15 mill profit last year and that was by finishing high up the table and selling one or two players whilst buying wisely .
It will take cardiff about 3-4 seasons of prem football to clear the debts off prem money alone ! forget all this rubbish about 100mill money for getting there you dont get it in one lump sum its spread over time .
If and when we go up our problems wont all se solved in that split second of promotion this club has a long road back to financial health .

Allen and Sinclair weren't included in those set of accounts. Although the £5.8m for Brendan and the back room staff was.

But yes you are correct. Paying the likes of Frazier Campbell 30k a week, Bellamy 30k a week, kimbo 18k a week, Velikonja, 18k a week etc etc etc their wages will only increase upon promotion. Not to mention their promotion bonuses (Bellamy will cash in for £1 mill alone). Our wage bill next year will be immense and so much more than your average promoted team.

To get rid of the debt which is reportedly £105m and rising in 4 seasons as you suggest then we will need to make a £26m profit per year - which isn't going to happen in fairness.

Going by the fact we have largely a championship squad on lower end prem wages already we would be very lucky indeed to break even after the necessary strengthening let alone make a £26 million profit year on year. The way we have gone about things can only end one way - look at QPR, Malaysian owners who have down money at the club and are spending way more than a club their size can sustain and are on the verge of a serious plummet.

But this is what we wanted and what we asked for, I say "we" loosely.
