" Leeds Utd Away Update "

Thu Jan 17, 2013 9:03 pm

Today there was further consultation between Cardiff City FC (Wayne Nash) Leeds united Football Club and the football league regards travel restrictions being imposed on us. There is still no common ground between the parties and it looks as if no one is backing down at the moment.

On behalf of Cardiff city supporters club today I continued to take legal advice on the alleged travel restrictions that may be imposed on us for the fixture at Elland road from specialist solicitors who deal with Human rights and civil liberties. Once we have the full facts of the proposed travel restrictions and they are made public knowledge, we will then get clarification if there is a legal route we can take. We are hopeful to have this information by the weekend or early next week when a travel club meeting will be called.

In the meantime on behalf of the supporters club I have written to West Yorkshire Police informing them that action will be taken if there is no satisfactory outcome for travel arrangements by the supporters club & maybe other supporters organisations of Cardiff City, and Leeds United FC are also aware of our stance. The Football Supporters Federation are also assisting us with advice on legal matters and course of action if needed.

If there is any movement tomorrow I will let you all know

The club continue to fight against the restrictions being imposed on us by Leeds United and west Yorkshire Police! Today the Supporters club has started to take legal advice from solicitors regards building up a legal challenge regards the restrictions being imposed. Once Cardiff City Football Club are able to pass on the full facts we will see if a legal challenge can be brought. We have also requested the help of the football supporters federation who have put us in contact with a firm of solicitors who specialise in Civil liberties. Hopefully i will be able to give you a further update with more detail tomorrow evening

Its ouright discrimination, id love to see Leeds taken down the legal route to hear the 'evidence' behind such treatment. Its all come to a head now, its time to make a stand. I honestly hope we aren't given tickets. Sorry to the faithful who'd love to go, but its reached boiling point.

The football league should show some balls and stick up for the supporters who travel all over the country to support their team
leeds have gotten away with this shit for far too long

They have absolutely no grounds to carry out these restrictions.Surely theyll back down when faced with legal action

Thanks Vince. Really Glad some one is advocating the interests of legally abiding cardiff city supporters who simply wish to be treated with respect and decency whilst attempting to support their local football club. Leeds United continue to be provocative which does little to enhance the atmosphere between the two clubs .

I enjoy attending away games , but attitudes demonstrated by the Leeds United Club are worrying, especially as in recent years Cardiff fans have been treated badly which discourages fans from wanting to attend Matches at Elland Road .

Look forward to the update on this issue .

No grounds to do it? Cardiff has a terrible reputation for mindless violence and is backed up by banning orders. Some people have severely short memories.

Thank you for you hard work. :ayatollah:

Just so Im straight on this - They had a RV point at jct 33 services but could make their own way in. We have to travel with the coppers from Wooley Edge (or wherever it is) about 20 miles away?
