Betting suspended on Adkins getting the sack and all over Twitter this morning. Complete madness if true. Some guy from Spain coming in as replacement.

Yup.
MONEY HAS RUINED FOOTBALL. That is all.

Crazy !
So 2 successive promotions and currently keeping the team out of bottom 3 even if only by a few points isn't good enough ? what were they expecting ? top 4 and champions league ??

Disgusting I like Southampton but they deserve to get relegated for auch shambles
Fri Jan 18, 2013 12:08 pm
Can't believe they sacked him. He bought promotion for the club and their last two results pushed them out of regulation zone! That's pure betrayal.

Who owns Southampton?

what the hell was his mandate for the season?!?!?! they are holding there own in the relegation battle he's doing very well. maybe they thought because they bought ramires they would finish in the top 10. must be hard for a manager being sacked from a job by men who have no clue about football

Nigel Adkins has been dismissed as manager of Southampton and has been replaced by Mauricio Pochettino.
Adkins joined Southampton in September 2010 on a three-year contract when they were third from bottom in League One.
He guided them to back-to-back promotions, first to the Championship and then to the Premier League where they began the campaign with a 3-2 defeat at Manchester City.
However, they won plaudits for their enterprising approach, most recently in the 2-2 draw at Chelsea on Wednesday evening which saw them move three points clear of the relegation zone.
Southampton executive chairman Nicola Cortese said: "This decision has been made with the long-term ambitions of Southampton Football Club in mind.
"Whilst we acknowledge the contribution Nigel has made during the past two years, for the Club to progress and achieve our long-term targets a change was needed.
"Mauricio is a well-respected coach of substantial quality who has gained a reputation as an astute tactician and excellent man manager. I have every confidence that he will inspire our talented squad of players to perform at the highest possible level."

f*cking disgusting!!
I've been to watch soton quite a few times and I can't work it out.
Back to back promotions
1 loss in 7
Came back from 2-0 at Chelsea.
Fans loved him.
Don't get it. I look out for there results. But I f*cking hope they go down. Money and greed ruining football even at lesser clubs.

I can honestly see us in the same boat. If we go up and Malky is only just keeping us out of the relegation zone then I think tan is the character that will show no loyalty to malky

they have got money though they bough Gaston Ramirez for something like 12 million. He was always under pressure as soon as they went up with rumours about him getting the sack

Gaston Ramirez sits on the bench most games, still thats hardly spending to try get up the league from the owners, adkins has more or less worked with the exact same squad that got them up to start with, so what do these owners of these clubs who go up and hang about the bottom 4-6 expect from teams like this top 4 spot

I agree this is terrible for atkins but if we were in the same position next year IF we get promoted. How many cardiff fans do you think would call for malkys head????
My personnal opinion is there would be a few after looking at some of the statements made on here after the ipswich game
