A forum for all things Cardiff City

It seems every time we go for a good player it stalls and things hold up and they are hmming and arrrin about moving to cardiff city.
they either go else where or fall through at the final minute, where as other championship clubs tend to smoothly get the job done and i Remember we never use to have this big saga going back about 4 , 5 6 seasons.
Is their something about this club that players dont like, is it career concerns, or the owners or our financial position.
could it be the agents have an issue with cardiff city and always try to get there players to opt for somewhere else if possible?

perhaps geography has something to do with it?
in regards the Campbell transfer, all accounts seem to suggest its not the player thats the problem.

Maybe they've heard Cardiff ain't got a Woodies Emporium anymore and are gutted.

It's just your paranoia and ignorance as to what actually happens in the world of player deals, agents, and managers vying for the best deal.

I don't think we struggle to attract decent players. Not in recent seasons anyway. Yeah, we might miss out on 1 or 2 targets, but even man united miss out on a few targets now an then

its not rocket science to suss out we've missed out on some players in recent seasons, it seems to be a commen incident, even alan shearer came down and had a change of heart after his meeting.
whatever you think I can assure you most clubs move swiftly and dont mess about.

Malky is abit slow in the windows too, that could be a part of it because if a club offers more money in the meantime. The player would be tempted away. Also Some players might be settled over the bridge.

I thought it may have been geography but we've lost out on a few players to Blackpool in the past.
Who the f**k would want to live up here?

If they read this forum they'll never want to sign. One or two bad games and they're made the scapegoat. Imagine if Taylor, Cowie or Rudy read this board

apart from those two clubs how many of the other league clubs have done any business. all the main deals will be done in the last 48 hours.
remember the last time we bought a striker in the first week of the window we ended up with jon parkin. apart from greggs who else in cardiff benefitted from that panic buy.
clubs will not let their top players go until they have a replacement. If sunderland sign danny graham i think you will find that the frazier deal will be concluded quite quickly

Much of it is down to players and agents who hold out as long as they can hoping for as much cash as they can get.
I don't doubt sometimes it is also down to the club, therefor I would suggest everybody is at fault in different cases!

The only reason you think that other teams transfers go through smoother than ours is because as a cardiff fan your aware of the build up to a signing other clubs half the time you won't realise theyre signing somone until they actually do.You have to be nieve if you think its different here to anywhere else.We have done excellent business in the last transfer window and the first summer malky was here! Transfer don't just happen overnight they take time your talking about moving peoples lives, family, possesions etc

You can't blame players and clubs, everyone is waiting for the best deal they can and seeing all the options available.
Players will want to earn as much as possible and at the higher level they can.
No different to clubs, like MM will be looking at a lot of players in a lot of positions and will try and get the best deal.

Are you suggesting Shearer was offered the job??
Bollocks, as soon as he knew he wasn't likely to get it he called a press conference to
save face.
