Re: How big would the south Wales prem derby be?

Yes would be as big the Manchester an Merseyside derbys.

Only with an atmosphere 1000 times better.

Re: How big would the south Wales prem derby be?

I seem to remember a really flat atmosphere at liberty and ccs when we last played, or is that just me

Re: How big would the south Wales prem derby be?

It'll be up there with the best of em, and the atmosphere will be even more electric than the 1st South Wales derby at the CCS in 2010, when Chopra scored the winner in injury time. That goal was more than worth the $2000 I paid in airfares so I could attend the match :ayatollah:

Depends if you can rebuild successfully again after losing your manager and best two/three players this summer ;)

No where near as big as either, more like Brum v Villa.

if we do we will have around 25 mill extra to spend on new ones , and the way we are raising players profiles at the moment there will be no shortage of players willing to join us

Seriously though, how long do you think you can go on rebuilding every (most) summers? I'll put my hands up here, you've confounded me every season since you were first promoted to the Championship. Looking at your squad every season since then you really should have been looking at relegation imo. But you've taken some risks which have paid off handsomely (Michu, Sinclair, Borini etc) how long do you think your luck will last? :P

Perhaps you could use that 25m to buy your own ground rather than renting from the council! 25m would get you a capacity of 10000 which all you will need when you start to freefall when you lose Michu an others!

The media would be interested in it in the hope that there is mass violence. Hopefully this won't happen but we both know that if any fan farts the media will go for a mass shit.

Nice to know you think we are getting promoted. I can see you boring us to tears as usual, but the result could well surprise you :ayatollah:

different team under laudrup mate that's unbeaten in 6 prem games now , and i don't think the result would surprise me i was thinking about 4-0 any more than that would be a surprise but who knows ;)

Going off topic now, this is about the size of the derby.

This would be one of the biggest games of the prem season next year, without doubt.
The atmosphere created after not playing each other for a long while will be immense, as its long overdue.
We both know derbies can go either way, so depends on who has the nerve on the day.

Cardiff v Swansea historical record swings in our favour, as you'd expect. :ayatollah:

They weren't risks or lucky signings, we knew what we were paying for. It's not like we hit their name on a dart board, we'll have watched them a number of times and our scouts are very good at signing good player for little value. Whilst Erik Larsen is still at the club, our 'luck' will keep on lasting.

Everyone looks at Michu as a bargain this summer, but Pablo is our best technical player, Ki is better than Joe Allen and Chico Flores is arguably as much of a bargain as Michu was and is our best defender.

Nothing to do with luck huw jenkins is the main man at swansea if Laudrup leaves (dont think he will) then it will be business as usual.

Re: How big would the south Wales prem derby be?

It's stating the obvious, but it can never be as a big as any of the really big derbies while its being played in front of 20-26,000 fans.

Big in south wales, maybe on sky but the london media will not give a f*ck.

Bollox was it flat, our support was superb all game - I have not seen mayhem like after Bellamy's goal for years at a city other than when Ben Turner scored at Wembley and Chopra scored at Chelsea in the FA Cup a couple opf years ago.

Can't see us beating you 4.0 but I suppose if we get an early goal you'll have to come at us instead of your defensive tippy tappy and we will catch you on the break :ayatollah:

But fear not I'm still not convince we'll even get promoted yet

Re: How big would the south Wales prem derby be?

It will be no different to the last time we played IMO, both stadiums will be the same size and it will be televised as it normally is, local derby is massive whether its in the prem or the championship no difference

Don't tempt fate! Until we actually kick off in the EPL i will not believe it.

If we bring in 2 players then I think we will go up.

Re: How big would the south Wales prem derby be?

I don't think it'll be that big of a deal.At present it'll mean more to you lot i think but in the grand scheme of things and the Premiership,it's just another game.It is the English premier league after all and 2 Welsh sides battling it out for bragging rights will hardly cause a whimper.
