This Taylor abuse

Sun Jan 20, 2013 1:39 pm

Ridiculous.

He is a bluebird, gives his all, marks some of the toughest players in the division and still tries to get involved in attacks and help the team score goals.

Some people wont realise what they got until its gone. Let me ask you a question...

Would you be happy if Malky sold Taylor and took the risk on bringing in another left back?

Surely if Taylor is so rubbish you'd be happy to take that gamble.

I know I wouldn't take that gamble because hes a quality player and people are just making him a scapegoat.

He's a solid player. Good enough for this division.

Not sure why you opened up another thread but I guess it's better than reading another rebrand thread :D

Re: This Taylor abuse

Dont like slagging him off but the truth is he is an average championship defender , no better no worse .
He tries hard enough and allways looks to help out in attack ( more now than he used to )

BUT he gets skinned by anybody with a bit of pace
gets turned inside out by anybody with a bit of skill
constantly out of position putting his c/b under pressure
when he does get on the overlap his crossing is diabolical

There is easily 10 full backs better than him in the championship alone
He is not good enough for the premiership
And a replacement is needed for next year if we want to stay up FACT

Other than that i like him lol

I find it disgusting he is getting slagged off today after playing his part in a great win.

WAYNE BRIDGE - BRIGHTON
STEPHEN CARR BRUM
SAM RICKETTS BOLTON
TYRONE MEARS - BOLTON
KIERON TRIPPIER - BURNLEY
DEAN MOXEY - PALACE
JOHN BRAYFORD - DERBY
ALAN TATE - LEEDS
PAUL KONCHESKY - LEICESTER
DANIEL AYALA - FOREST
JOHNATHAN PARR - PALACE
MATT CONNOLLY - CARDIFF

I GOT ONE OR TWO MORE IF YOU WANT THEM ? OR DO YOU JUST WANT TO ARGUE WITH THOSE CHOICES ???

Cant speak too much on the others but he's easily up there with the others. He's not the best defensively but does his job specially would good cover in front of him. And he's very good going forward

Re: This Taylor abuse

Sun Jan 20, 2013 2:08 pm

I wasnt slagging him off he does a decent job im saying there are better left back around . its a fact .
He WAS at fault for there goal because he let his man get goal side of him which should never happen
He could have also gave a penalty away BUT other than that he had a decent game .to often he is below average and all people are saying is that he is a weak link in a otherwise solid defense . most goals we concede come from down his side and that is also a fact , which you would know if you watch the games and take notice .

You being serious, most of them are right backs for a start, taylor has improved a lot this season and ince is a prem player in the making so if he got turned a few times, i bet he would turn at least most of them on that list

Re: This Taylor abuse

Sun Jan 20, 2013 2:13 pm

The only left back in this league i'd take over taylor is george friend

Out of interest which one of that list kept nooney quiet when we played them ?

SAM RICKETTS BOLTON - see above - bolton are struggling for a reason
TYRONE MEARS - BOLTON - see above
KIERON TRIPPIER - BURNLEY - stop the drug abuse please
DEAN MOXEY - PALACE - arguably a better player but no guarantee that he is
JOHN BRAYFORD - DERBY - better but also the best full back in the Championship by some distance
ALAN TATE - LEEDS  - No, just no. He is a terrible player
PAUL KONCHESKY - LEICESTER - Better but has Prem experience and once played for Liverpool
DANIEL AYALA - FOREST - No just no. He was crap at Prem level at youth and still is now
JOHNATHAN PARR - PALACE - Again no. This is just another name you've plucked out because hes at Palace
MATT CONNOLLY - CARDIFF - Hes a makeshift right back, not a left back. They face different threats unless wingers switch wings.

So the only three there who are better are Bridge who has plied his trade at the Premierships top level, Konchesky who has plied his trade at a decent level in the Premiership although struggled somewhat at Liverpool and Brayford, a player who has been tipped by many to easily make the move up to the Premiership etc.

Ridiculous to be honest. You've basically just proved how good he actually is. Easily the 4th best in the division and only ones who beat him are those with real potential talent or proven Prem experience.

I agree that list is far from convincing and as pointed out a number of them are right-backs. Taylor is young and makes mistakes but I do rate him and he will come good. He is certainly far better than that useless Jack tw*t (can't believe he made the list of potential better left-backs)

Re: This Taylor abuse

Sun Jan 20, 2013 2:22 pm

I thought he did well against Ince who is surely gonna be a top player for years to come.Bit dissapointed he let Flecher-Taylor get in front of him for the goal but that don't make him a bad player.I'm gonna ask Malky if he can transfer some fans in that actually gotta clue in this window.

John parr ripped us apart when we played palace last year hes the left back with long blonde hair and is a very very good player , connolly can play anywhere along the back 4 .
tyrone mears dean moxey kieron trippier are all better and by some distance .
he may be top ten but would be around 8th at best
sorry but just an honest oppinion
Will taylor be good enough for the prem then ? iyo

there recognised names because there good players , and i said full backs they were just off the top of my head and i dont play computer games boys .

Question . how many of you had heard of taylor before he came here and would you have put him in a top ten full back list when he was at middlesborough ?

Alan tate is a left back who can play c/b

Our defensive unit (of which there are four components) have only conceded 2 goals in
the last 6 league games.

One goal was when A Palace player was left unmarked in the box from a corner, he was
ten yards out, Taylor was where full-backs usually are at a corner, on the post.

Blackpool.. the game came from a cross where three of our players failed to clear the
ball on the RIGHT. Nugent let Fat-cher get away from him for a split second. During that
split second, Taylor tried to pick him up, the ball was fired in and Fatcher was too well
positioned and too strong. Not Taylors fault. Your facts are pretty much full of holes

Knew about taylor when he was at Middlesborough when they were in the prem. He's got about 60 caps under him in the premier league. How many of those full backs can say that?
