COULD THIS HAVE BEEN US UNDER RIDSDALE ?

Sun Jan 20, 2013 3:53 pm

Taken from the Blackpool message board.....

Why Run Blackpool into the Ground ?

& a cabbage patch of a ground at that!

The question is why as so called good business men would The O's with tens of millions at their disposal, put all the growth into reverse? They refused to buy/loan Dobbie & DJ relatively cheaply thus losing the most successful manager for 40 years.

They are pushing all the high earners towards the exit door to slash the playing budget, they have failed to invest in probably the most important thing being a football club - the pitch, making us a laughing stock.

They have failed to communicate anything positive or otherwise to their paying customers - the fans and seem likely to lose thousands of loyal season ticket holders at the end of the season as a result.

The feel good factor that swept through the club, the sea of tangerine and a playing style that made us the countries second favourite team has gone, to be replaced with doom and gloom.

But why? the likes of Dobbie/DJ/Puncheon could of been bought at one time or other collectively for a couple of million add in wages over 2/3 years and you would be looking at 6/7 million.

A couple hundred grand invested in the pitch would of transformed it Still leaving the vast majority of the richest prize in sport left in the kitty. Undoubtedly with the above we would be aiming up the league not down and Ollie 'the messiah' would still be at the helm.

The club, the business, Blackpool FC would still be continuing to grow. So WHY? It does not make any logical sense even looking from Karl's boggled eyes.

The only reason I can come up with is to squeeze Belekon out cheaply and his 20% of bums on seats. If the business income tumbles and specifically less fans turn up his income would obviously subside. One thing clearly to come out of the accounts is that the prem windfall is all heading Oyston's way and relatively little to VB.

It is the best I can come up with chaps, anybody think of any other reasons WHY?

Surely the sentence "the club will lose 1000s of loyal ST holders because of this"

They will stop going because he won't spend? Hardly loyal then. :laughing5:

They really were punching above their weight, they got a manager who put a hard working squad together and they thrived. It looks like the chairman has decided to keep the money from promotion.

The fans have tasted the high life and want it back, but they are still a smallish club and the coming together of a perfect storm to get them promoted will rarely happen twice.

Swansea did a similar thing but with much better management and ownership. They now thrive. Had they come straight back down like Blackpool things could have been so different. Kudos to them and they are now reaping what they have sewn.

Because owners/ chairman are getting savvy tp ways of creaming premier money for themselves! If you notice teams are spending less when going up, and putting in clauses for relegation, so making maximum profits. Just a thought. On subject.

I have to say I was bemused why a team with players like Ince, Phillips, etc and known for playing a passing brand of football would choose not to invest on a pitch that allowed you to do that ? Especially when they have had the financial opportunity to do so ?
4 wins at home, 3 at start of the season ! I can understand why their fans would not be happy. Wonder if Matt Phillips regrets not moving to us last January now ? Is he or Ince worth a sneaky bid in the summer ?

We we have gained a 1000more ST or so since being top and could sell another 4-5k easy if we was allowed to, which would sell out the CCS in SEASON TICKETS alone for match days from now and untill the end of the season so you could say where was them loyal supporters a few months back chuckle. This loyal tag people toss about is aload of bullshit. :ayatollah:
