Hes big strong and quick , solid in the tackle and plays an easy pass everytime e wins the ball
Does a very difficult job and makes it look easy , very underated imo and thought he was very good for us
Who would you have instead ?

:) SEE NO ANSWER
He did have a strange way of running and looked unbalanced but give him credit what a tackler and won everything in the air in centre mid . Still think hes underated and would slot in next to whitts perfectly

Re: Best championship players

I find threads like this ridiculous.

How can you POSSIBLY know these players well enough to assess them?

I'm fortunate now that I get to watch most City games live again and have a
hard enough time remembering what our own players have done on the pitch.

So I'm assuming you are going off some 'Stat' site'??? for your info on all these
players? I prefer Malky's dossiers

Aint modern football cosmic :? :?

Re: Best championship players

Glenn Murray's scored about 100 goals this season. That's not bad.

Jamie O'Hara ain't played many games so don't know why he's on your list. His wife's not too shabby though #wag

Re: Best championship players

Sun Jan 20, 2013 7:28 pm

I've watched Butland play against us twice this season and i think he's a bit of a shit arse! he has no command of his area and he's afraid when anyone comes near him.

Like polo said Vydra should easily be in your top 5 strikers and as much as i love roger johnson i'm not sure he was ever as good for us as mark hudson has been this season, and he has been pure shite since he moved to wolves.

isn't coutts a right midfielder and i think wayne bridge is shite. Brayford, Hunt, Trippier and Carlos Edwards and George Friend are better than him imo

wouldnt put glen murray in myself, really dont rate him despite his goals (something like 12 penalties?)

as for the OP, he showed himself up in the taylor thread, just making it worse here :laughing5:

Re: Best championship players

Cardiff City first team. We are top by 10 points because we have the best team and best players.

Re: Best championship players

Sun Jan 20, 2013 9:56 pm

Not neccessarily in order, but also taking into account players who have played a fair amount of games this season:

GOALKEEPER-
1 David Marshall
2 Casper Schmeichel
3 Julian Speroni
4 Tomas Kuszczak
5 Jason Steele

CENTRE BACK
1 Mark Hudson
2 Curtis Davies
3 Wes Morgan
4 Andre Bikey (Even though he's a dick, he's a good player)
5 Roger Johnson

FULL BACK
1 John Brayford
2 Chris Solly (Charlton - very good player, young, highly rated there - played well against us too - would like us to get him tbh!)
3 Kieran Trippier
4 Jonathan Parr
5 Bruno Saltor (Played a lot but currently out injured)

CENTRE MIDFIELD (Playmaker)
1 Peter Whittingham
2 Robert Koren
3 Sone Aluko
4 Mark Davies
5 Liam Trotter

CENTRE MIDFIELD (Holding)
1 Rodolph Austin
2 David Meyler
3 Aron Gunnarsson
4 Grant Leadbitter
5 Kagisho Dikgacoi (struggled to think of a 5th to be honest!)

WINGERS
1 Wilfried Zaha
2 Tom Ince
3 Craig Noone
4 Anthony Knockaert
5 Chris Eagles

STRIKERS
1 Craig Bellamy
2 Charlie Austin
3 Chris Wood
4 Jordan Rhodes
5 Matej Vydra/ Luciano Becchio

I chose players on who i believe are the best in there positions consistently not over a few months ,
Friend i dont know much about so would need to see him more to have an opinion .Just because you like him doesnt mean he would make my top 5 .
Murray has had a good season but like said a lot of penaltys . Chris woods is promising but needs to do it over a few more months not just a scoring spurt .
I didnt show myself up i said taylor is not the best FULLBACK in the league and he is far from it we just had a difference of opinion which is aloud in forum is it not ? .
Vydra looks quality fair play but others again have done it consistently , yes a lot of the players are household names but thats because they have been really good players for a few years not just half a season .
I dont use stat sites its an opinion i have made on my own by watching EVERY cardiff game LIVE not on tv home and a lot away . Also see most championship games on tv and take an interest in them is that a crime ?
You can laugh at kevin davies but he has allways won praise for performances even at prem level let alone championship by EX PROS not just people on a forum . Hes an England international and at 33 made over 500 prem league appearances he is quality and deserves a place in the top 5 imo .

you dont pick players who have only done it for a few months, yet you pick will hughes?

why? because the papers say hes good? i would rather Jamie Ward personally.

also, you are talking about the best championship players, Davies has done nothing to warrant being in there, and has hennessey even played this season?

I said the best players IN the championship whether there injured or not doesnt matter . Hennessy is still better than most of the keepers and will take his place in goal once injury free .
Will hughes has done enough for me to include him allways impresses me and a lot of other people thats why he keeps getting links with moves away and for big money . Sometimes someone special comes along and regardless of experiance is blatently a great player . Ramsey was similar for us , ox chamberlain for southampton . the kid is class and i stand by his inclusion .
