Question to Golfers on here

Listening to Radio Wales earlier and they mentioned that the Abi Dabai open was part of the 'European' tour. Just wondering is this true or does the sports presenters on the radio need a lesson in geography..?

On the very bold assumption you mean Abu Dhabi?, then yes this on the European Golf Tour.

This was the first of three straight European Tour events that will be held in The Gulf States. The Qatar Masters then the Dubai Desert Classic will follow this event in consecutive weeks.

Probably for the same reason, that the World Series is only played in America!

As with many things in life I guess money talks, and so they take the 'European Tour' as such over there for 3 events across consecutive weeks.

It is also nice to see it was won by a Welshman too

The European Tour are committed to taking golf to 'new' places and Abu Dhabi (having just a little bit of money floating around ) was/is one of those countries. They (European tour) have gone into Asia in recent years too
