Advice RE Crash please

Tue Jan 22, 2013 10:28 am

Someone went into the back of me this morning, it was quite a bump but at the time felt fine, my neck feels fine but I have a few pains running through my spine and left hand side of my back. Im not the type to claim I no its not whiplash but should I go to hospital to be on safe side etc? Should I report it to her insurers? They have rang and and she has admitted full responsibility....Never had a bump before so not quite sure what to do... Cheers guys

If it hurts go to the Doctors, if it carrys on hurting in a few weeks months maybe look for Physio costs. tell your insurance company what happened and the same to hers. you have 3 years to claim if you need to.

If after a few weeks you're fine, let it go.

Might be worth going to see a Chiropractor to have a look at your back if your getting pain, better to be safe than sorry and end up with problems further down the line.

someone ran up the back of him.....hardly blame culture, totally other persons fault.

Sue them for personal injury, its only their insurers who pay.

everyone pays, why do you think insurance is so expensive?

if there is a serious problem then fine, but there is far too much of it going on these days.

Which pushes up everyone else's costs at the same time!

Seriously, can't people accept an honest mistake in slippery conditions?

If there's no injury, just let it go.

why should he?

Insurance price is based on the number of claims in a particular area, not the value. If he's claiming on the car he just aswell claim personal injury.

What a stupid thing to say.

Re: Advice RE Crash please

Be very careful. I had a similar smash in July last year and didn't think too much of it, so started dealing with insurance myself as they had admitted full liability.

After a couple of days the pain for myslef and my wife was intense and I started getting worried with the way the other parties insurers were trying to push me toward their own treatment partners and get me to agree to just 5 physio sessions.

I happened to know a Personal Injury lawyer and just asked him what I should do and he told me to stop everything. The opposing insurers will just get you to agree to a certain amount of treatment which they'll pay for but that will be the end of what they'll pay, whatever your condition at the end of it.

My mate took over for me, his firm pays for all treatment upfront and it's all claimed back once you have been returned to the same physical condition as before the accident.

I, and my wife, are still going to physion once a week and have been seen by a private consultant, all paid for as part of the "no win, no fee" approach. I'm still in agony at times and if I hadn't gone to a solicitor I'd now be forking out for the physio out of my own pocket (they offered 5 sessions and I'm well over 20 now which would be close on £800).

It's not always necessary to go through a solicitor but be very careful how early you settle with insurers because these type of injuries are notoriously difficult to assess too soon after the accident.

If your in pain then its a genuine claim so dont feel bad about it--

Not like the thousands of Bogus claims by gangs of foreigners who are deliberately braking hard in front of people to manufacture an accident
And the ridiculous situations when families are suing each other

but thats whatinsurance is for and he already says it hurts if he doesnt go to hospital to get checked out now and it does turn to something serious then it doesnt look so good. But i agree if after a few days its ok then only claim for damage. If he has to go a few weeks with pain and discomfort and maybe cant do his job welll he should be compensated

If your injured then claim, it could get worse an you might be off work.

A tip for the future, never ask this forum for advice 90% of the people on here are thick as shit another 5% are the same thick as shit people with multiple user names.

You shouldn't judge lanes in ely on this.If think your pain was caused by the accident then you should report it to the insurers and get yourself checked out.It may be nothing but whos to say it isn't,besides if it gets progressively worse and stops you working next month you have no come back on the insurance.
