Not my thing, I've never seem the musical and never knew anything of the story before I went to see the film.
I will say its a bit long and Russell Crowe isn't a singer but what a film, even Crowe who can't sing is excellent IMO.
If you go and see it in the cinema be prepared to be surrounded by blubbering woman. People even clapped at the end of the film, that's a new one for me.

That's going to bring serious sex rewards. Good luck keeping your penis attached to your groin I think!

However, I've never really gotten on with Les Miserables which is a shame because the backdrop of the French Revolution is something that interests me but I don't like that many of the songs in Les Miserables so it makes it quite a hard watch for me.
I can appreciate that others would like it though but I think it's definitely more one for the women.

I agree, not into musicals but wife took me in 2205 to see les mis in London and thought it was amazing, it came to cardiff a few years ago and was excellent again. Seen Phantom in Vegas which was good but Les Mis was better!
