Swansea fans at Sunderland

Tue Jan 29, 2013 7:47 pm

Not being picky or looking for a bit or anything, but I saw the Swansea fans in the upper tier at the Stadium of Light in the background, only looked like around 400 of them there minutes before kick-off. Granted it's a midweek fixture over the other side of the country, but that's still pretty poor

It seems their 'support' goes into hiding for away night matches.

live on sky, that's decent enough, don't reckon we'd take any more in the same circumstances.

In fairness it is a hell of a way up there and its on TV but for a premier league game the support is poor.

I'm sure the guy that started this subject said the other day that he will be looking to do his first ever away trips shortly. Pot and kettle springs to mind.

Just announced..............193 away fans. PATHETIC.

Their support goes into breeding in the night and as we all know they do their breeding in Swansea so no reason to go up to Sunderland. It would only mean they'd have to take the family as well and then it'd be more expensive. Better to stay in the caravan and get Sky on the dodgy box. :old:

What a stupid thread, the day after it was announced that only 200 tickets have been sold for Leeds away

I know which place I'd rather be travelling to.

It's the least attractive away game for us this season, which also happens to be on a Tuesday night, live on Sky.

Other factors include the many that you've listed on here, as acceptable reasons for poor away crowds for Cardiff City yet supposedly not valid for us - viewtopic.php?f=2&t=103557

200 tickets sold for Leeds for the unbelievably extortionate prices.

Completely different circumstances.

Plus they've only been on sale a few days. Swansea fans have probably had at least 3 weeks and won't be fucked about by police. Plus one massive difference, Premiership/Championship

Cant really argue this one-we have taken 1500 on a tuesday night to sunderland. However game wasnt on sky and you lot have had a few cup games as well. The problem is a few of your dickhead posters on here come and give it large trying to mock our away support and most people are just giving it back at the idiots.

Re: Swansea fans at Sunderland

I was at sunderland on a tuesday night in 2003 and we had around 1,200 there. Thats what you call support. Our away support had dropped a bit since then though.
