So what.English is the first language and nearly every country in the civilized world have adopted it as their second language. But after reading that article I expect all the racists will be out to support you.Just to balance it up a bit did you know that in WWII many thousands of Poles gave their lives in defence of THIS country and then when the war finished this country reneged on a solemn promise to liberate them.Ignorance is a wonderful thing eh?

Not so much a defence of our country but a sanctuary to use to regain their own land back....a bit like the French.

Actually not one Pole gave their life in defence of THIS country, they gave their lives to defend their OWN country, and in an attempt to liberate it.
WE went to war to defend Poland (as promised) and after liberation from the Germans (as promised) they were allowed to return home. The homes they had fled from by the way.
Very very few wanted to go home after the war, so they were allowed to stay in our country, where they were safe, housed, and looked after (many got jobs here and have happily raised families). Any that wanted to return to Poland were allowed to.
Ignorance is a wonderful thing eh?[/quote]

The more languages people know the better in my opinion. This country should be more open to adopting and learning new languages. You go abroad and there are plenty of children fluent in English as well as their own language yet here apart from a few percent in Wales that is hardly the case. The education system should more of an ethos on languages and other useful real world disciplines than some of this academia nonsense. The full on academia stuff can be done at college and university if they want to go down that route. School should be preparing for life more than preparing for further education.

It'll backfire badly on the politicians soon.

Whole swathes of Poles in factories have had a taste of freedom over the last 25 years.
Wait til the first load go on strike cos of shit working conditions and pay (and they will!!)

They are a hard working bunch the poles, but they are not muppets!

Any Poles that went back after the war who served for the allies were rounded up by the russians who then occupied Poland subjected them to hard labour camps to which the allies turned a blind eye. Very say thousands died trying to liberate their own country and found that when they returned back a new oppressor had arrived.

tony blair and his cronnies are not atthe shit end of the stick and have never been effected by the migration to this country, what i propose is that we now bring in foreign politicians to run the country at a fraction of the cost of the bunch of arseholes we have in charge, why do i think the border would soon be closed if this happened.... :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I wish people would get their facts right on Polish involvment in WWII. They wasn't so much over here helping us. It was more the case of us over there helping them. You do know that Gemany invaded Poland don't you? And ar.. that is exactly why we declared war on Germany?

So dam right they should have fought against Germany alongside us. Afterall it was their war we were fighting not ours. Remember we were dragged in to that war to defend others not ourselves. And while we are on the subject I'm still waiting for these Euro country's to give our fathers a word of thanks for fighting for them, which in turn turned the German force our way and left us massively in debt. The Polish were so greatful for that they've abbandoned their own country for a served on a plate better life overseas. Least thanks they could have given was to stay there and make their country great rather than walk away.

I agree with you on this :o

The O/P is one of our brainwashed Tony Blair products. He WANTED this thread to take
on racist undertones.

1) Poles are not a race.

2) Poles on the whole are hard working people, contribute to society and respect our laws.

Good to have threads like this make a return among the usual drivel with the Jacks.

Poles are working people, will do any job for shit pay. They have on the whole learnt our languages and contributed to society. However that cannot be said for other Eastern European and baltic communities. Why? Because the Poles came here in the 2004/ 5 to WORK. We had 600k vacancies at the time we needed them and they helped us hugely. The buggers coming here now are not here to work, we have no jobs for them to fill. To highlight my point many Poles are going back now to find work as the work here has dried up!

Most came here with skills. One thing we should have done is ensured that they were spread out a bit more as it's been proven in lincolnshire that it's a huge strain on resources to have a mass influx of people. With the Bulgarians and Romanians they are coming from very poor countries compared to us, all hell will break loose. They are not the Poles, they are not coming here in similar circumstances and they will not benefit this country.

They must be stopped before some regions will crumble under the pressure.
