Yes fair play a great gesture and needy children will benefit. But come to think of it. I often give away what I don't need.

She's living in London with the kids. She had plenty of opportunities in LA, the best place to enhance ones reputation but didn't really. To be fair to her she's not like many other celebs who crave attention.

I think this gesture is what it is, nothing cynical.

She is merely enhancing her reputation,Paris is the Bees-knees of the
fashion industry and she has the best Advisors to guide her. It's a good,if not
brilliant Career move. Good on 'er !

His package would be made up of signing-on fee, image rights, sponsorships, bonuses etc, his actual salary would be small potatoes in comparison. Still, nice gesture though.

reported as a 7 figure sum - don't call that small potatoes.

brilliant PR for the Beckham brand.

Apart form all that, though, he consistently comes across as a nice fella - class act.

Income tax for high earners in France is 75% ;)

Don't believe what's 'reported' with the image rights etc etc his overall earnings would be around the 150k being touted, but his actual football wage is about 1/5 of that amount.he will pocket his image rights, as he rightly deserves and donate his football wage! Its still a great guesture but don't be fooled into think he's travelling to paris for free! This is brand beckham!

He is worth around $300,000,000 i don't think his heavily taxed salary for a year is all that important to him, wouldn't even be as much as the interest his bank generates on what he already has. It's massive PR for his brand and is doing his bit to give back.

I'd like to think I and many others would do similarly. Well done beckham and his team, although there are enormous benefits to the brand for this, much more than keeping the salary could ever do. Everyone wins. :ayatollah:
