What happened to it in January? Some pirate steal it?

Re: War chest

Spending the money because you have it is a lot different to spending because you need to.

We have proved to date that we have a good squad. We just needed to add a bit extra.
Cambell and Lapin are more than adequate, plenty of experience with very little cash spent.

But if the club has the war chest to go get a Brayford or Bent, why not do it?

Bent Wouldn't drop down to Championship.
Malky wasn't going to Pay over the Odds for BRAYFORD simply because Derby knew we had cash to spend.

If I'm honest I thought a few days ago that Malky was gonna bid £1.7m for him today, but West Ham and Jacks both touting moves for him and Derby asked £3m apparently.

Why spend more than the going rate when you dont need to? The Club just cant win can it?

Fans moan that the debt is too big - then moan when the manager is loathe to waste money
when he doesnt need to.

How much do you think Campbell's wages are costing us over the length of his contract?

To me, and I may not really understand the finances, but promotin is the aim, and promotion is what can help with the debt more than anything. Why would you want to leave any reasonable doubt? If it is true that clubs that strengthen in January win (and I know Campbell is quality), why not go do it and erase the doubt. The club has never been this close. I am not moaning just curious.

So if its 25k that's about £3million on a 3.5 year contract. There's where the money is going.

I believe this squad is good enough to win this league, but for me if there is money there get a prem class player in ready for when we go up.Loan or sell the player he replaces.

Curious? Well how many strikers does Malky need to sign? If we sign two right now what
message does that send out to the fellers who have got us ten points clear at the top?

How many defenders do we need right now? Watching Leicester tonight and apart from
Morgan, none of them over-impressed me.

There will ALWAYS be 'reasonable doubt'... if we went out and spent £15m on three players
can anyone say hand on heart that it wouldnt upset the 'group' ethic that the manager has
worked so hard to cultivate? I'm serious. What if it took three or four games for the newer
more expensive players to bed in? Look at Leicester last season under Sven, all that money,
all those players... they fucked up!!

If its not broke - dont fix it. Thats a pretty sensible saying.

Sensible response and on many levels I totally agree. It's not quantity I would like to see it is quality. If there is not an impact defender or striker then fine I suspect, like you that this team is good enough.

The current squad is good enough for promotion. There's no need to sign players on big wages yet.

Malky has played it well. Some people just want signings for the sake of it.

Cant recall off the top of my head where I saw it but certain it was stated he is on 20,000 a week.
