Do we need a target man

Fri Feb 01, 2013 10:23 am

This season when we have been chasing games or when Helgusson looks knackered Gestede has been thrown on and we have lumped high balls up front

It is an option that Malky has used on occasions... and i think the season so far has taken its toll on 36yr Helgusson
I dont think Rudy is the viable option

So to mix it up a bit and lets say if CAMPBELL PICKS UP A KNOCK AND COMES OFF

Do we need a big strong forwqrd to hold things up...and if you think so Do you think MALKY will bring one in during the loan window

Doubt it. I think he will just use Helguson as a sub to bring on towards the end of games. He was effective doing that against Blackpool. roughed them up and gave the defenders something different to think about.

At first I thought we did but as you have said everytime Rudy is on the pitch high balls are always played to him. When we keep the ball on the floor we knock around nicely. So i think if theres no tall man to give long balls to we should hopefully keep it to peoples feet.

If we do need a big man up front we got Helgusson, and the pressure is slightly off him now with the amount of stiker options we have with mason, bellamy, rudy, cambell, Helgusson and smith if needed to play upfront
