Just reading the on-line English language Danish paper they have a feature on the troubles of DSB, the Danish version of the old British Rail. It appears that they are some 17 billion krona in the red (around 2 billion quids) and are seeking government approval to "cut costs". First on the list are the folk who push the refreshment trolley on the trains who are paid the miserly sum of 475,000 krona a year which is roughly 53,000 quid a year

I'm making no political comment here just surprised that DSB wonder why they are so far in debt, if that's what the "trolley dolly's" get paid who knows what the other staff get paid. Even allowing for Danish tax that's take home pay of more than 30 grand a year!!

Its more than nurses, firemen, police, etc get paid apparently.
