THE COST OF WATCHING PREMIER LEAGUE FOOTBALL

Fri Feb 01, 2013 11:23 pm

Recently there was condemnation of Arsenal because Man City fans were charged £62 for a ticket at the Emirates, similarly many City fans have been up in arms about the ticket cost for Leeds.

Swansea played away to Sunderland this week and paid £29 for a ticket but when Sunderland played at the Liberty they were charged £45.

I was interested in what the average price is for an away ticket at Premier League clubs and come across this graph which was part of an article by four four two.

It shows that Man Utd fans pay the most because they are Man Utd, the minimum it costs to follow them away from home for all 19 games is £840. That is an average of slightly higher than £44 per game.

Reading fans watching every away game will pay the least of the 20 clubs providing their fans buy the minimum priced ticket as it would cost £623.50 to watch every away game, an average of just under £33 per game.

Should everything go to plan and we make it to the Premier League this year, I wonder where in that list our fans would appear?

Probably near Swansea and Reading.

We've got no history in the top flight in recent times and our only real rivals in the league are Swansea.

Sunderland were charged £35 not £45.

The only clubs fans to be charged £45 are Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City & Spurs as a category A game, the rest are £35.

The same price applies to individual home tickets for those games.

right at the top alongside man utd because we will pick up the clubs police costs in my opinion..
despite the fantastic steps forward by our club and supporters regarding trouble, arrests etc we will still be treated with mistrust if we go up by the relevant police forces

We'd be charged 45 quid at Swansea I would imagine because it's a local derby. That's eye watering.
