cardiff 74 wrote:it was my first ever derby at swansea cardiff 2 swansea 0 ronnie bird scored the two goals in extra time i think .and this is how it came a about .one morning my next door neighbour came in to our house and asked my mother and father would i like to go with him and his son to watch cardif and swansea in a welsh cup tie at the vetch they new i was into football big time at the time i was only eight years of age .my dad send no problem at that time my dad had a betting shop in paxton street rigt behind the east terrace he even sorted the tickets out for us so we got in for nothing .as i said earlier city won the game two nil but what attracted me to the city was ther blue shirts with a bluebird on it also the players they had on show that day gary bell don murray bobby woodruff ronnie bird cardiff seemed to be diffrent class that day also the city fans were in the double decker stand they had in those days .after the match was over i was hooked as far has i was concerned from this day i was a bluebird i hadnt even been to ninian park to see a game but that came a few season later in 74 .the one thing that i was unware of that day was bitter rivalry that existed that day which was to stay with two clubs to this present day

for us city dwellers brizzle is 2 miles closer than swansea

A lot go on the train from Port Talbot, no coaches go from here some decide to drive up, thats what i will be doing.

A lot go on the train from Port Talbot, no coaches go from here some decide to drive up, thats what i will be doing.
Apparently there are a couple of buses running from the tavern on sat. Train for me
