Anyone watching it tonight? I've never watched American football before but I've taken it upon myself to learn the rules. I think I know them anyway
Sun Feb 03, 2013 5:37 pm
I'll be watching - I wanted Atlanta to get through, but will support the Ravens tonight
I've booked tomorrow off work as well
Sun Feb 03, 2013 5:48 pm
Might watch a bit of it but will probably record it. The commercials and half time show do my head in. Will be hoping 49ers win it. Was hoping the Broncos would get there this season
Sun Feb 03, 2013 5:50 pm
I watch it sometimes. Probably wont tonight.
Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:01 pm
Its Shit
Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:08 pm
Shall be watching.
Have topped up my knowledge of NFL in recent days and am looking forward to a cracking event.
Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:08 pm
Yeah watching it later
49ers to win
Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:30 pm
Can't wait, massive NFL fan
Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:47 pm
I love the NFL but this game is too late for me.
Had a fiver on the ravens at the start of the playoffs - so I obviously want them.
The young 49's QB may have his work cut out with Ray lewis in his last game.....
Sun Feb 03, 2013 6:52 pm
I have no clue what any of you are on about
I just about know the rules but don't have a clue about what goes on in the NFL. How does the league work?

in the NFL there are 32 teams
these teams are split into 2 conferences the AFC and NFC 16 teams in each
each conference has 4 divisions of 4 teams each
the regular season is played for 17 weeks each team playing 16 games with one 'bye' week.
after this you have the playoffs 6 teams from each conference at least one from every division will compete in the play-offs
the play offs is a 12 team elimination tournament with the 8 winners of each division, 4 from each conference and 4 wild card teams 2 from each conference.
the playoffs consist of 4 rounds, wild card round, divisional round, conference championships and the super bowl
the 3 big games are the 2 conference championships which decide who wins each conference, AFC Champion and NFC Champion, then the Super Bowl played between the AFC Champions and the NFC Champions that decides who wins the NFL.

Sun Feb 03, 2013 7:55 pm
Will be watching. Thankfully afternoons this week so worked out well.
Shouting for the Ravens and Ray Lewis.
Sun Feb 03, 2013 7:59 pm
ravens to win by a 7-12 point margin 6/1
Sun Feb 03, 2013 9:09 pm
absolute CRAP!
The sport (which is shit anyway) comes second to the hype and showcasing around it. load of old nonsence.....
Sun Feb 03, 2013 9:14 pm
Been an NFL fan since the late eighties and the Dolphins are my fave NFL team, so I'll be watching tonight same as every other year. Rooting for the Ravens too as Ray Lewis is a huge character and one of the great linebackers in the game. Nice to see him retire with another championship ring.
Sun Feb 03, 2013 9:14 pm
Im a Raven through an through... What a way for Ray Lewis to bow out by winning another super bowl and taking it back to Baltimore!!

Sorry for actually liking the sport of American Football. Yes I do follow a team, and I actually got to watch a live game just before Christmas in America but it's more the sport than the actual set up of clubs. Just because the teams are franchised doesn't mean I shouldn't follow the game.

Rugby in crash helmets.

What time is kick off?
Sun Feb 03, 2013 10:16 pm
used to watch it alot when i was a kid...
after going on a family holiday to florida, we drove up to jacksonville and took in a game...
it was the jaguars v the 49ers... i think it was the most boring sporting event of my life... it lasted what seemed like all day, but was stop, start and so on.. the actual game play in the 4 15min quarters was shocking... almost 3 & half hrs for the whole game experience.
most exciting moments were the budwieser birds, a huge f**k off hotdog and a couple of jets flying over before the start!
Sun Feb 03, 2013 10:29 pm
I enjoy the NFL but I despise the two teams tonight.
I don't really enjoy Golf but do not find the need to call others out in all caps because they have different taste.

im a huge steelers fan, but as its ray lewis's last game, it would be the fairytale story for the ravens to win, so loyalty aside im going for him.
Sun Feb 03, 2013 11:20 pm
Wish they'd hurry up and kick off...
All this corny American shit is gonna make me spew!
Sun Feb 03, 2013 11:23 pm
San Fran have been my team since the 80's - the good old days Montanna - Rice etc.
Waited a long time to see the 49's back in the superbowl, going to be tough tonight, but would give this up for City to be promoted.
