Do you think the chase for Premier League football will be better than the prize of it itself?
Nobody knows how we will cope if we get there. We could finish mid-table. But if we were to struggle, would you enjoy it as much as right here right now? Winning week in week out?
In all honesty I would enjoy Premier League football more than getting promoted alsong as we stay up. I think the feeling of surviving (if we were struggling) would feel a hell of a lot better than getting promoted (and that would take some beating).
Now we just have to hope we get there to experience all of the ups and downs that the Premier League beholds.

I think so.
I used to say this under DJ, people would spent so much time arguing about this and that and the silliest things.
OK we didn't go up in the end any of the times but you gotta enjoy these moments.
IF we go up its a feeling we will never feel again IMO

Stan QPR said last season, the buzz of trying to get in the Prem is better than actually being there.

Look at it like this. when we got promoted to this division it wasn't enjoyable. Most fans were annoyed at missing out on automatic as we scraped the playoffs. when we actually realised our prize by beating qpr it was an amazing feeling. And then when we started life in the Championship there was a freshness and real buzz. I reckon i would feel the same again. The amazing buzz of realising the prize is yours. And then a great deal of buzz when we are playing in the new league.
There will be regulat 'cup final' games. evening kickoffs on saturdays against Man utd etc will be immense games and great atmospheres. This league has bored fans to submission. The buzz of new teams, new sets of fans, new stadiums will be immense.

Years ago the elation of staving off relegation(seemed like every season) at the eleventh hour was almost as satisfying as a rare promotion. The atmosphere of the famous Crystal Palace game at Ninian Park is indelibly etched in my memory. The Tony Villars goal is still one of my favourite ever. We may experience epic relegation battles if we ever get to the Prem. Who knows? We may even surprise ourselves!

I see where your coming from, but the only we will find out is when we get there, We then must make sure we stay there, which means us Fans must be patient when we lose games, because we will lose many,. So we have to back our player 100% win or lose.
The Jacks have done it,so must the mighty Bluebirds

It would be hard to beat the feeling of going up if we can do it. 51 years is a long wait.

going up will be amazing, imagine the celebrations if we go up this year?... in the prem then we'll be underdogs in most games, people will be up for it, everyone will get behind the team (hopefully) and sing their hearts out week in week out!

Ill be far more impressed with the feeling of getting promoted (if we actually do) than nearly anything else. Staying up would be up there. But supporting a club like Cardiff and where they were when I firth started going to join the elite would be basically anything, even the FA Cup and League Cup.

It'll be the best party I've even been involved in.

This.
The vast majority of us weren't around last time City were in the top flight, it'll be a unique moment in most of our lives.

I think we will be partying well before the last game.

Wise words... It's a strange league to be in. Unless you're one of the top 4/5, you hope for a decent start, get points on the board and then survival is a victory. It's not ideal, the Championship felt a bit more honest.

I've been thinking about this for ages. I've loved the past 4 or 5 seasons as we've been competing towards the top and winning plenty of games. It's going to be a different mindset if we go up. Lets face it the Prem league is all about the top 5 or 6 clubs and the rest just make up the numbers. Yes the money is huge but sooner all later it all ends up in players pockets or on inflated transfer fees. I really am torn as I want the glory of promotion but not really interested in the prize.
But then if we get there I guess I may feel differently

I believe he was right. The buzz of aiming for it will be far better than trying to survive there. The target of the premier league is survival (not get relegated) for 14 teams, how can that be as good as trying to win something?

No - If we stay true to ourselves, backs against the wall, come out fighting (not literally any more !!), not going down without a fight, cheering all the way- even the family stand........
Yes - If one of the dopey new lot with no idea expect us to be top half and doesn't see why Malky hasn't signed that Messi guy and wants to over analyse the fact we will be scraping for every point.

This is dream land.
Like imagining you've got that great job or beautiful girlfriend.
It's absolutely fab but it doesn't happen to us.
We're Cardiff city fans and we deal in anguish and hurt and pain.
We groan when they play shit. We get overexcited when they put half a dozen decent passes together.
My son keeps telling me to buck my ideas up and that every fan of every club in the championship just dreams of being where we are.
I'm still not convinced we'll go up and I dare not dream out loud in case it doesn't happen.
Am I the only one with excruciating butterflies every time I think of the possibilities?
I've got to stop now - the pain is too much.
