Don't fall for the hype. PS4 supposedly has twice as powerful a chip as the Xbox, but then the Xbox has TWO chips, one for gaming and one for Internet and media.

I have both, but the PS3 is gathering dust especially since Xbox sorted out their media apps like BBC, Netflix and the like. Sort have lost interest in the PS3 after they were hacked and personal details were taken.

They are basically the same, have the same stuff inside as each other (different companies) this has been anounced by "sack" staff who where high up (for the graphics card companies) also expect an announcement on the ps4 mid this month

Too soon to know about apps, but I'd assume we won't be waiting for the channels to turn up like we have with the 360.

At the moment it's just about hardware, chip speed, memory and gaming media delivery. Probably have blurays. Sony suggesting 4k pictures and Xbox murmuring about Kinect 2.0 projecting edges of games onto your walls, not holding my breath on that one.

rumours that Microsoft asked generally survey that if the new xbox which is rumoured to be called xbox720 that would they still buy the console if the system did not play pre owned games, so every xbox720 game would have to be brand new, I for one would never buy it if I could not play pre owned games, no way could I pay 40 plus for brand new games when they first come out where as you can trade n swap for pre owned which works just as good as brand new ones, new xbox supposed to be blu ray player just like ps3 currently got, I very much doubt Microsoft would be to daft to do this though.

Both probably did since 2nd hand games kills the profits of the companies, loose quite abit of money on game sales.

Oddly my gaming has lessened on these machines, they are used more for media.

Hmmmm actually.... I have a high spec pc plays crysis on v high no probs. But the next consoles are 6 times as powerful as your average gaming pc. So i would say they will be on par with next gen graphics card etc. All planned

Expect loads of digital only exclusives, & the playstation could well fail according to my uncle, because sony have invested all their budget on the casual gamer forcing big name core gaming 3rd parties to jump ship.

I thought Microsoft were announcing at E3 in July.
