Malky at the liberty last night

Thu Feb 07, 2013 11:06 pm

I was lucky to bump into malky last night before the Wales match at the liberty, and have a chat. His enthusiasm and passion for Cardiff City and football in general never fails to impress me, but one thing he kept going back to was how good our support is and in particular at the away games. He commented how loud we are when we score a goal, and how fantastic the fans have been supporting the team when their backs have been all hands to the pump at some of the away fixtures! He is really impressed with the volume we generate, Over the years many managers have thank the supporters for their "great support" but from malky I sense a genuine admiration toward us and not just the lip service some managers roll out! Which is great praise indeed when you consider he has played for 2 of the most vocal supporters in the UK. celtic and Norwich! yes some may laugh about Norwich but those who travel away regular will know how good Norwich are at carrow road in support of their team.

So well done to everyone lets keep it going and get behind the boys good numbers for Saturday again :ayatollah: :ayatollah: perhaps the atmosphere isn't as bad as what some people might want us to think? :D :D :D

On the road we are fantastic but he is entitled to his opinion :)

Even in interviews after a game he will actually mention the support of the fans which is just fantastic.

You only see managers mention it when they have a big game cup game or something.

Vince, I believe Malky is an honest straight talking manager, not a bullshitter and when he says he appreciates our support I believe him. What a contrast compared to arrogant Jones :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I was talking to Malky a while back and he said how he will never forget what our fans can be like when he played at Ninian Park, said we really were different than most fans with our passion for our club. :malky: :malky:

I'm sorry?

I don't drive, yet still get to most home games. A two and a half hour train journey. The train alone costs me £20+ for a HOME game. Middlesbrough will be my 10th away of the season.

Add to that I don't earn alot of money and have to use up a large percentage of my annual holiday from work to get to these games. I also don't shit money, so that doesn't help.

Yet you have the cheek to call me a part time fan?

Yeah, I had the privilege of speaking to him at a charity event and his enthusiasm is so infectious. Personally, I think he's the best manager we've had during my lifetime. It's a pleasure to have someone at the helm who is so genuine.

Just think of the pressure malky is under aswell with sections ofthe media saying its promotion or bust for cardiff city this season
Working under Tan who holds all the cards but knows naff all about football cant be easy aswell.Malkys attitude and character has rubbed off on the players and thats where our extroadinary consistency and will to win comes from

Fair play Vince you don't half talk some shit. Out of the thousands of people there, how can you know that? Or did your account get hacked when posting this?

:sleepy2: :sleepy2: that old chestnut again. Actually I got the information from the FAW . I was in the coopers with about 20 cardiff supporters who all follow Wales and they were accompanied by a couple of local Swansea supporters who also follow wales and mainly west walians. in total there was no more than 50 in there. i walked up to the railway to meet a few Swansea lads I work with and it was dead in there with only a handful of locals in there, and a couple of boys from north wales. the harvester was fairly full with a mix of supporters from all around Wales. What i most enjoyed about the night was how well everyone got on, and there was no tension at all. There are some good friendships being formed between the two sets of supporters these days with both Cardiff and swansea tolerating each others company and flags at international matches.
