This puts life into perspective

Fri Feb 08, 2013 7:20 am

My daughters best friends sister who is 12 has just been diagnosed with liver cancer. She is from one of the nicest families you could meet. She has to have chemo to shrink the tumour and has already been measured for a wig. I'm not overly religious but if anyone on here is please pray for little Alice.

Shocking it can happen to someone so young.

Lets hope that modern science can help her. Like you say though, if there is a God, perhaps he'll help too.

Not a religious person but heart goes out for her.

Horrible to hear. Not religious, but all my thoughts go out to her, her friends and her family.

You're right, it does put things into perspective. It's what I was thinking at a family member's funeral a while back. You see things like this and it makes all the things you thought you cared about like football, promotion and everything all meaningless.

It's just not right and if anything this proves what a crock religion is. Pray to the being that allowed her to get cancer in the first place?

I send my thoughts and wishes to her and hope she gets better. Stuff like this is fucked up and should not happen to kids so young. :(

As you know Gareth lost one of my best mates this week to cancer at only 39 - been an awful week.

Hopefully Alice will beat it. Will say a prayer tonight.

Life is not horrible, but sometimes it's cruel.

I believe in a devine creator, and I will pray for Alice tonight.

Keep the faith. :malky:

When you are a parent this is the worst news that you want to hear, god help if it ever happens to you, you will pray every night because you will not sleep, no one can tell you the words that you long to hear, don't worry everything will be allright, it is a long hard journey, but we are so advanced that if caught early enough, there is hope that it will be cured, I will say a prayer for for her, god bless and good luck
