What will your feelings/emotions be this Saturday?

Mon Feb 11, 2013 7:59 pm

Watching US playing in red at home to Bristol City? Will this bother you? Will you find this difficult to watch? For me, I am going to find this extremely tough and emotional, watching us playing at home to our local rivals in our local rivals colours. I am loving how our season is going results wise and I am still loving the football, day out, atmosphere etc. But this is the one fixture I have been dreading since we rebranded. Watching us playing in red at home to Bristol City is going to be very hard for me to handle. What's everyone elses views?

Honestly couldn't care less, the only thing that concerns me is another 3 points.

Haven't thought about it to be honest, just want us to smash them all over the place and get the 3 pts.

Won't give two hoots about the colour of the shirt,3 points is all that matters.

Every game we play in red feels strange because we are the bluebirds. Those who say that it makes no difference are in the luxurious position of watching a team top of the league so accepting a colour change is perhaps easy to forgive. We will have our moment in the premiership next year but will playing in red feel so great if we get relegated? We are Cardiff City in name only at the moment. Our owner thinks we are a Malaysian club and if you are happy to support city as a Malaysian toy just to watch some premiership football that's up to you but I will never accept it.

Just seen the responses in this thread and I am both surprised and disappointed that almost all the posts don't really care about our red colours as long as we win. I thought at least a few posters would be finding Saturday's game as difficult to watch as myself. Cheering the team in red when we are playing Bristol City is simply something I never thought I would be forced to do. It doesn't feel natural to me and it's something I will feel very uncomfortable and embarassed about.

I was at Huddersfield and I was loving the blue army chant and I really hope we keep this going. I will be shouting blue army as loud as I can Saturday, it's the only way we can show VT how we still really feel about our club. There is still no evidence proving why our rebrand will benefit us and I am surprised how so many fans have been taken in and will quite happily be attending Saturday's game glorifying the fact we are now playing in the same colours as our local rivals.

Its a derby game but we don't just wear Red against Bristol but everyone in this league so you are going to get the same response for every game.

I know that but like I said, Bristol City at home was the one game I was dreading since the rebrand. When we played Bristol City until this season, cheering the team in red would be the last thing I would do. The fact there is a local, heated rivalry between us and the fact we are now being forced to cheer on our team who are now wearing Bristol City's red colours is going to be a very strange and sad experience for me.

Hopefully we will mate. This is my 25th season supporting City and I remember so many games against Bristol City. I used to hate their red colours with a passion but now I have to show my love for the red while we play them. Hopefully we will hammer them Saturday and it will feel just as satisfying for me!

Understandable. I don't really throw my views about it much on here as I am not a fan but I ent going to both debating because it leads to full arguements and personal s**t. My opinion is in my opinion and sad to say that anything I wanted to do or the fans want to do won't change it. We can fight it but we won't win thats just honest opinion.

I know what you're saying, I try my best to debate maturely and not throw personal insults at anyone. I am on this forum to give my opinions and whether people agree or disagree, I hope they can respect why I feel the way I do. It's good to have a debate where you can agree to disagree without getting abusive. I'm off to sleep now, been nice debating with you and I'm sure we will have a friendly debate about another topic in the future. :ayatollah:
